50 hours after plopping out her newest baby Adrian, Charlotte Perrelli was back on stage with the Diggiloo gang. “It wasn’t as bloody as it sounds,” explained the star.

In the entire run-up to Adrian’s birth, Perrelli was out touring and appearing in the media, leading her to be called “Steel Woman” and “Super Mom”. But Charlotte explains that it’s all just part of her character. “I think I’m just a little bit stubborn. I decide that I would finish the tour as long as I felt well and everything worked out.” And it did!

Since Adrian’s birth, Perrelli has been singing her songs on stage without advanced dance moves (there’s a shocker!), and has spent the rest of the time resting in their trailer.

But not all have been positive about Perrelli’s touring. A number of bloggers have criticised Perrelli for setting a bad standard. “I can imagine that it’s because they are afraid that their own freedom will be taken from them, that they too have to be some kind of steel woman. But I’m not at all promoting that people should get up and work right after giving birth. I don’t think someone’s a better mom either for going to work early or for staying at home.”

Well, Perrelli will be taking a bit of time off now, until the Christmas concert season starts again in a few months’ time. In the meantime, she will practice for her newest fan, little Adrian. “The other day when I sang for Adrian he just lay there and looked at me with his big eyes. It was something he recognised.”
