Tenor Amaury Vassili, who represented France at Eurovision in 2011 with “Sognu”, was placed under police arrest for use and possession of cannabis last night, according to French cable news channel LCI.
The 24-year old opera singer was taken into custody at a police station in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. Amaury was reportedly in possession of 20 grams of hashish at the moment of his arrest and he had a high blood alcohol level. Don’t be jealous.
This afternoon, the singer, who has apparently been released, reacted on Twitter: “Surprised by the magnitude of an ID control. It’s true that I smoked an illegal cigarette. My apologies…”
