Valentina Monetta Crisalide Vola poll winner wiwibloggs

In case you haven’t heard already, Valentina Monetta will be hoping to make it third time lucky in Copenhagen next year. And Eurofestivalnews.com has reported that San Marino’s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest is to be unveiled in January.

It seems that Valentina has opted to go for the Bonnie Tyler route, and release her next album which includes the what-will-be Eurovision entry for San Marino next year, just as Bonnie did with “Believe in Me” from her Rocks and Honey album.

The title of the album has yet to be decided and will feature 12 songs, most of them in Italian. Some of them will be written by composer Ralph Siegel and some by Valentina herself. No date has been confirmed yet but it is certain, barring any last minute surprises, that the album—including San Marino’s entry for 2014—will be released sometime in January.

Valentina Monetta’s debut entry “The Social Network Song (Oh Oh – Uh – Oh Oh)” ended up 14th with 31 points in the semi-final last year. Her entry this year, “Crisalide (Vola)”, narrowly missed out on the final after finishing 11th with 47 points.

What do you think her entry will be? Can San Marino finally break their semi-final hoodoo?

If any country does break their semi-final only run, it should either be Montenegro or San Marino.

Hopefully she finds her groove this year. If I ever go to Italy again or San Marino if I’m lucky, I will vow to pick up a Valentina album. 😀

No… Please not jazz, I’m just not a fan and find it rather dull. I think Valentina has still to find her place. What I do know is she is a very diverse, talented and if I may say awesome artist. Can’t wait to see her back!

I’d love her to try a soul number this time.
