With the deadline fast approaching, entries for the Swiss national selection are coming in thick and fast. While I was browsing through the submissions, I stumbled across a pair of former UK X Factor rejects contestants, who might be familiar to those of you in the UK. The out-of-tune duo is not Jedward, but Diva Fever, finalists from series 7 in 2010.

If the thought of Diva Fever sends shivers down the spines of British Eurovision fans, rest assured they are not representing the United Kingdom. Instead, the duo from Peterborough will be trying their luck to represent Switzerland with their entry “Dancefloor Lover”, which can be seen here.

It is not the first time a former UK X Factor duo tried to represent Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest. Brother and sister act Same Difference, who came third on series 4 in 2007, tried to represent the country in 2012 with the entry “Music”, but they missed out on reaching the Swiss national final.

Eurovision is perfect for Diva Fever’s vocal range, as Jedward proved in 2011 AND 2012!

However, I think the Swiss have more sense than to send them to Eurovision.
