When it comes to the Eurovision Song Contest, the United Kingdom has made some atrocious decisions in the past. The British public has chosen the likes of Jemini, Scooch and Andy Abraham. The BBC weren’t any better. They chose has-beens Engelbert Humperdinck and Bonnie Tyler.

If all this weren’t bad enough, former UK X Factor reject contestant Rylan Clark has admitted that he wants to take the Eurovision Song Contest by storm. Dun dun duuuuun!

“I would love to do Eurovision,” he told STAR Magazine. “I’ve grown up with it. But it would have to be done the right way, not one of these soppy f***ing songs that Andrew Lloyd Webber keeps writing.”

He is also unimpressed with the United Kingdom’s recent efforts.

“Who the f**k is picking the songs? You’ve got to go for that Euro sound. It’s definitely something I’d love to do. Why not?”

Is Rylan Clark at Eurovision a good idea? Would the BBC approach him for the UK? Or will another country come calling?

As much as I love Sean Banan, I think this guy would be the Sean Banan of Eurovision, but a sad version of him & it wouldn’t go down well 🙁

God…He makes Liberace seem butch in comparison…I think from his performance he would make the UK the laughingstock of the competition. I think the UK should let the audience choose their entry. Adele would be a great choice hands down, but it won’t happen.

If he goes for uk i wont be supporting him. I think its about time we go back to a public vote for an entrant and have a pool pf talented upcoming singers to chose from.. on that note ..Mike Hough …people!!! check him out on youtube

Rylan is a vapid attention-seeker who is only famous for being famous and he would be a disastrous choice for the UK, not least because he’s an extremely unreliable vocalist.

HECK NO.
He is annoying and just a bad act.
There is a LONG way from Jedward (fun!) to him (annoying b*)

The gay extravaganza and Eurovision … it does sadly makes sence … but it’s not gonna give the UK any credibility or popularity in the contest for one reason … he can’t sing! But since being a good singer does not matter that much in ESC these days maybe he wlll be as lucky as awful Jedward were in 2011 and be top 10 … for no good reason but a mere question of popularity amongst fans and viewers who won’t even bother to listen to him.

He could be a good choice for a show consultant, or a drama dancer in the show… for the actual singing you need somebody else. Wouldn’t let him do more than a yay or two. ” ‘Singer’ feat Ryan Clark ” might be not so bad for UK. (don’t know who the singer should be, one that has a good voice but is missing the show part).

Please no….his voice is not good at all. However, it would be a better decision than when they chose Engelbert Humperdinck and other horrible UK entries (well aren’t they all tbh)

Seriously? SERIOUSLY? He missed more notes than he hit. I’d rather listen to cats fighting. And the over the top camp costumes and ’70s flamboyant staging – pathetically bad.

What people miss when they think car wrecks like this will do well is Eurovision has incredibly good performers singing great songs, and with staging that while it’s wild, works well.

This guy combines the vocal talents of Milan Stankovic with the staging of Moje 3. And if this is what the UK considers talented, I shudder for the future of the country.

Judging by the pictures, it seems he wants the UK to join Austria on its way of controversy.

But hey, the song’s good, the song’s good. I hope he won’t end with something like Hungary 2009, which is seemingly the vibe he would take.

No no never…….why do these rejects always wanna go and ruin things when we want to try and get a bit of credibility?

If the BBC had any clue, they would approach Kerry Ellis who has stage presence and also worked closely with Queen’s Brian May.

I would love for him to go , he is a born entertainer and has eurovision written all over him. Plus tbh to have an act for UK thats gonna achieve a low position with a boring or bland song, i rather see UK come last with him giving an amazing show 🙂 Although i think what would happen is Europe wouldnt get him like the UK didnt get him at 1st during X factor

Lord have mercy on us if he is chosen. I agree that the BBC does need a wake up call but Rylan isn’t that call. They should send Katherine Jenkins. She’s a real class act and performer.

People who think he would be great really need their heads checked ..we don’t need shit like this to bring down the contest .. He can’t sing and has no talent .

He hit the nail on the head about the soppy songs. There are better words, but I’d rather not use them. He would be a great choice!

I would actually be SO happy if he were chosen to represent the United Kingdom. Rylan was born to do Eurovision! Granted, his voice isn’t exceptional, but he’s an amazing performer and he proved this time and time again on the X Factor. Bring it onnn!
