We all gathered around the TV last night, Haribos in one hand and iPhone in the other, waiting to see Marco Mengoni or Lena hopefully win an award at the MTV Europe Music Awards in the Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam. Much to our disappointment, Marco didn’t even show up and although Lena arrived looking lovely as ever, the Best Worldwide Act award that they were nominated for went to some Chinese singer instead called Chris Lee, who looked strangely like Marija Serifovic

The person (or persons) that we least expected to be gracing the red carpet of the EMAs was Ireland’s Eurovision alum, Jedward. Yes, I repeat JEDWARD. The crazy twosome rocked up wearing very clean white jackets covered in European flags, which would have been very appropriate for Eurovision!

In true “jepic” style, the twins wasted no time in standing at the front and dancing like crazy to every song possible. It was impossible to miss those white silhouettes, whether you recognised them as our Jedward or not. They even had time to socialise with superstars such as Katy Perry, Jared Leto and take a few sticking-out-tongues selfies with Miley Cyrus!

Out of all of the Eurovision artists nominated for national awards, we only spotted Lena and Jedward out there on the big night in Amsterdam. Have we missed anyone? Did you watch the EMAs, and did you want a bigger Eurovision influence on the EUROPE music awards?

Chris Lee is quite impressive. She even had the Farid Mammadov trapped in a box trick during her Wild World Tour concerts.

Miley and Jedward … 2 trainwrecks of a kind … both seeking desperate attention at all costs no matter what regardless the low level of talent ever shown by both … but at least she did a good performance of her Wrecking Ball … good just not great. The only time she impressed me with her singing was with her cover of Parton’s “Jolene” … but she has been wasting time focusing on everything from twerking to smoking … while music is second placed. A shame!

Why aren’t more EUROPEAN acts getting nominated and awarded at the EMA’s? Does Bruno Mars really need a European Music Award? Sure have all the international acts but when it comes to seeing what Europe has on offer it still comes down to Eurovision.

All I basically did was watch Jedward jump around (the best part ) & eyeball for some other Eurovision/European artists who should have been on stage instead of Americans, but it is MTV after all… lol

Hi!
Just want correct a little thing (if you don’t mind). Chris Lee is a girl (I also thought she was a boy but I googled her and she’s a she). Best worldwide act always goes to Asia, even when some nominees are One Direction, Justin Bieber and Lena(!)
Sorry and great article
