Diamonds are a girl’s best friend—and apparently they are for the folks at Denmark’s state broadcaster DR, as well. Today Jan Lagermand Lundme, DR’s Head of Show, offered a glimpse into the graphics and artwork for 2014.

“It is not the finished theme art, but a preview of the graphics that includes some of the important elements that we work with,” Lundme explained to DR. “The idea is that the graphic to support our slogan # JoinUs. And this slogan with a hashtag in front is at the center of the graphics, which has red, blue and purple elements and has a diamond-like shape.”

Lundme, who gave us a series of interviews earlier this year about Eurovision 2014, also pointed out that the image is about pull. “The graphic shows how a lot of energy assembles and pulls towards a core,” he said. “And it’s the same thing that happens when there is Eurovision in Copenhagen: The people and music from all over Europe will be united, and that occurs something beautiful, says Jan Lagermand Lundme.”

What do you think of the sneak peak of the #JoinUs graphic? Are you feeling it?

Eurovision.tv should have a vote on their site whether to keep or ditch the hashtag!!!

I think the # works. It’s inviting people to join them now via social media. And to participate that way throughout.

By the way, I also like the colors, but the old Eurovision logo seems out of place and too small.

Haha daytime TV. Yes, that’s true.

The hashtag is just annoying. They might as well replace the Eurovision part with “@Eurovision” as well. Unfortunately, though, it fits with the modern trend of promotion, and it’s probably good business sense.

I like the crystal theme, but get rid of the social media stuff.

The # needs to go. If San Marino can’t sing Facebook for fear of a commercial endorsement then how can you have a Twitter nuance in the logo. Also, Join Us should be a sub header with the Eurovision symbol being more prominent. I like the colours and the diamond however.

I just see a blue cube on a purple background, which is making me go all OCD as I want all the corners shaved off, or all pointy, both is annoying. And a hashtag….bit cluttered!

I like the colors, but I don’t know if I like the hashtag in the logo. It looks a bit misplaced. I think I will like the look more during the week in Copenhagen! :))

Please #JoinUs after so many broadcasters are withdrawing or in doubt of participating?

you know what, i like it!!! aside from it is blue, which is my favorite color, they should be creating something away from the color red, just like any other art designs of previous years.

noticed that the artworks deviate from the colors of the host country’s flags. take 2012 as an example, they deviate from the blue, green and red colors of the azerbaijan flag and the theme is in orange, so it is cool….

In my opinion it is too blue and there are too many lines…

I agree with David, it has potential.

For me, it looks more like a crystal cube than a diamond, but then again, “I’ve never seen a diamond in the flesh”…

I like it. It’ll depend on how it’s animated but I think it has potential.

Actually quite similar to the JESC 2012 artwork, looks also quite icy.

It bears a strong resemblance to a daytime game show. Dated even before its launch, the artwork needs revision.
