UPDATE: Anton has finally released official video for Close up. Hotter than ever,Anton raises some dust in pre – Melodifestivalen time with the fatal kiss at 0:17. We love it!
Swedish hottie Anton Ewald, who has just been named as a competitor at Melodifestivalen 2014, has released a brand new single entitled “Close up”.
It has only been a few months since he released his not-so-sucessfull “A” , but he has matured a lot since then. We don’t know if he hired a new team pre-Melodifestivalen or took vocal lessons or sat down with Loreen and had a long chat, but this number is hot and he knows how to work it. The Timberlake-esque style really suits him. If he presents something like this at Melodifestivalen next year, it’s gonna be amazing!
Anton penned the song along with Dhani Lennevald, Sebastian Lundberg, and Jeff Roman. It is a banging 90’s r&b number. The lyrics video shows how popular Anton is among women as he hugs woman after woman after woman! We really would have liked to see a bit more gender diversity.

He’s gotta be careful not to become a carbon copy of JT. I do like the song though, but it does take a very very similar turn like in some JT songs. & he even sounds like him quite a bit.
@Jessica: Hey girl calm down! There is no end of the world on the horizont okey? You see it one way I see it another …. the best you can do is ignore me because I don’t care if you see this as a joke the same way YOU shouldn’t even be bothered by my words. Different views on the same issue. That is the true beauty of diversity 🙂 Expecting everybody to see it all the same colour and same size … no beauty at all.
And, also, he does have male fans. so why wouldn’t he hug them too?!
Charles: LEARN TO TAKE A JOKE
“We really would have liked to see a bit more gender diversity” but as everyone should know not every single song or video out there has to focus on gay themes even if the singer tried to compete for Eurovision. A bit limited reading on the artist if I may. And if Anthon is straight why on earth would he hugs guys in the video? Makes no sense … Listen and enjoy the song regardless who they are directed to … that will showcase “diversity” on the part of the listener.
