Ovi and Paula Seling, who finished third representing Romania with “Playing With Fire” in 2010, are officially back in the Eurovision game. Last night, Ovi posted this teaser on YouTube, expressing his hope that his song is going to be the “Miracle” that would bring the Eurovision trophy to Romania, 20 years after its debut.

The song has been produced by Ovi together with the Norwegian team Beyond 51, which also was behind Stella Mwangi’s song “Haba Haba”, and promises to be a hit. That, however, depends on how Romania decides to select its entry – or, indeed, whether it will participate at all. Currently, broadcaster TVR is embroiled in a financial scandal that lead to the resignation of its president and the dissolution of the board on Wednesday. The latter was supposed to meet yesterday, to discuss the budget for Eurovision and whether to organize a national selection or to select the artist internally. Now it’s all up in the air and it’s rather unlikely that anything will be decided by the end of the year.
Nonetheless, due to the huge popularity of Eurovision among TVR viewers (which attracted huge ratings last year) and the success of the Selectia Nationala, which also got an award for best programming, we expect that TVR will continue on the same note. In this case, it will be interesting to see who Ovi and Paula will have to battle with in order to get to the stage in Copenhagen. Electric Fence, Mihai Traistariu and many others have already announced their intention to challenge the duo.
Until then, what do you think about this teaser? Is it enough to grab your attention? And are you excited about Paula and Ovi’s comeback or would you like to see some new faces representing Romania next year?
Update 18 Dec: Ovi published another teaser from “Miracle” on Facebook. From what we can gather, a (double) piano might also return to the Eurovision stage…

It will never be as good as Playing with Fire. I’m 100% sure. I have to listen to the song first to know if Electric Fence will be runner-ups for the third consecutive time or not.
BTW, I think Selectia Nationala is confirmed and they are confirmed to compete in them.
The song is good, but not nearly as good as “Playing With Fire.” If it does represent Romania, as I hope it will, there’s no doubt it’d reach the top 10, but I don’t think it’d win. And with the financial troubles in Romania, it’s a smart idea to avoid spending more money than needed with a national final and selecting this in an internal selection.
I absolute adore this. No doubt it’ll be Bucharest 2015.
Awesome! I hope this song represents Romania in Copenhagen 😀
No sorry ! I don`t like ! Send Ellie White or INNA 🙂
Ovi confirmed to us this evening, that Miracle will participate in the Romanian Final 🙂

A real miracle if this won and if Romania television could afford to host the contest .. Nothing special ..
Not promising. So boring and ”typical” pop song for me. Nothing new – like the most of imported songs from Nordics.
They are an amazing duet – it could be a winner.
Dangit, the clip cuts off right when they start singing together 😛 I know that’s the purpose of a teaser, but it sounds like it gets so good!! Can’t wait to hear it in full!
Providing Ovi and Paula were selected, this could go either way. They could do well just like in 2010, or they could end up suffering the Eurovision equivalent of “second season syndrome” as most returning artists found out.
This could be a MIRACLE! Bucharest 2015
OMG, this is amazing! Not sure if it would win, but it would be another Top 3 for Romania if they selected it.
