BHRT, the state broadcaster of Bosnia & Herzegovina, has officially confirmed that it will not #JoinUs in Copenhagen for Eurovision 2014.
In a statement, BHRT said that it was unable to create a successful “financial structure for a self-financing plan.”
Long story short: they ain’t got no money honey. Interestingly, a private network in Bosnia does, and it will be fielding a contestant for Turkeyvision. This is a major coup for the private networks. For years they have wanted to buy the rights to broadcast Eurovision, which BHRT rejected. With Turkeyvision as the viewers’ only option, the private networks have won.
We were holding our breath and hoping that BHRT might send Lukijan Ivanovic, the Bosnian who is currently competing on X Factor Adria. Alas.
