Hannah Mancini might have won the Pirates of the Sea Cruise Ship Award this year, but it is David Bryan, the Brit who represented Romania at Eurovision 2011 with “Change”, who might become a cruise ship singer next year.

Oh, how the mighty have fallen!

The now-defunct Hotel FM band frontman admitted on his Facebook page that 2013 is the first year when he is no longer sought after as a performer at New Year’s parties, which he takes as a sure sign that his career as a musician in Romania is over.

However, although admitting defeat in his adoptive country, David does not plan to return to the UK. He will remain in Romania until October 2014, in order to respect existing contracts that he has with various establishments. He announced that he has started applying for cruise ship singer positions and even claimed that he is looking forward to performing at sea. He ended the message thanking all his fans and supporters.

We think it’s a pity that David, who only last year managed to impress all coaches of “The Voice of Romania”, finds the ever-growing Romanian music industry too much too handle, but we wish him well on his journeys. Hopefully he won’t be brought down by this “Change”…

Any thoughts for David?

It’s not like he doesn’t have other talents to fall back on – he should consider a career as a webcam performer.
