Judging from the reaction to our “golden oldies” piece, y’all are mighty concerned about who the UK send to Denmark. Well, you’re not the only ones. Popjustice, one of Britain’s biggest music websites, recently polled its readers on what acts should represent them at Eurovision. And the results are very interesting. Unsurprisingly, almost all the acts nominated by the site’s readers are current. The list only includes 2 “vintage” acts, but compared to Bonnie and the Hump they’re mere babbies.

Now, as y’all know at this stage, the BBC can be quite slow on the up take when it comes to Eurovision. So rather than just repeat the list verbatim, we’ve decided to make things real, real easy for them by providing them with mini CV’s for each act. Hopefully, they’ll see how popular all (or at least most) of these acts are, and how the “douze points” should come rolling in if they choose any of them.

Hurts tried to represent the uk in 2012 but the juries chose engelbert (I can’t spell it) and little mix would do well with move but then again girl bands always do bad in Eurovision but most are bad except mrs Einstein in 1997 hehe

I think Florence and the Machine would be nice add to potential artists representing the UK.

Following the BBC steps, I think that will be Paul McCartney or Ringo Starr. Or a wannabe name.

@dhani: BINGO! If they go, and they lose badly, it could tarnish their career bad enough that it could take another decade for them to recover.

Now, Little Mix, they are just getting warm. I’d send them.

One of these artists would be great! Personally I think Dido would be absolutely awesome with a nice song like Whiteflag or Life For Rent 😀 The Scandinavian countries and western European countries would definitely vote for quality songs

I would love Ellie, Marina or Charli. To be honest, I don’t think Ellie would do it but Charli recently released a single (SuperLove) which is around 3 minutes long and Marina hasn’t really released any new music lately, so those two could possibly have Eurovision in mind. Rita Ora should be on this list, even though I think she’d rather represent Albania, or Kosovo if they took part rather than the UK.

marina and ellie goulding would be amazing for Eurovision.

Leona should have been on the list instead of geri halliwell and those girl bands nobody knows.

How about Alex Hepburn or Marlon Roudette?

Well all of those are great artists but the question is… which of them would like to represent the UK at Eurovision?

Well, I prefer Hurts or Marina and The Diamonds!!
Again, why everyone thinks Eurovision is just for amateurs? By sending big names, it means that UK are serious about this competition. It’s time to change Brit’s mindset about Eurovision. I just hope BBC read popjustice..

I just hope that the UK will ever understand that it is not about the performer but about the song. You can send One Direction and they will definitly end high, but if they have no Eurovision song they will never win I think!
