As Jane Austen would say, it is a truth universally acknowledged, that you will always find links to Eurovision in the most unusual and random places.

Some of you may remember our Twenty More Signs You’re A Eurovision Fanatic post from a few months ago. And those of you with really good memories might recall sign number 10. If not I’ll repeat it again.

You almost lost it in the cinema when you heard Gaitana’s “Be My Guest”playing during the brothel scene in the vampire film “Byzantium”. You lost it again when you couldn’t find the clip on YouTube.

Well, after a long wait we can finally share the clip. For some context you should probably take a gawk at the trailer first.

And now for the infamous clip. But be warned, this is definitely NSFW!!!

Byzantium is available now on DVD.

“Be My Guest” was my least favorite track of the 2012 edition of ESC. A painful action scene for a painful song?

It was a shame, because as Charles rightly points out, Gaitana’s got lungs. Where I differ is that I’d much rather listen to Ruslana, though. Especially that one song Ruslana did with T-Pain, which was major kick-ass.

Creo que By My Gest es un gran tema dance, pero el directo de Gaitana en esc fue algo flojo, sobre todo la parte de los coros quedo deslucida, aun asi es un tema que sigo escuchando.

I like Gaitana, cool voice and a great attitude. She is far more interesting than annoying Ruslana. But I do understand why “Be My Guest” caused mixed opinions. She should have presented herself with a more powerful and more believable song that reflected herself as a great singer. You grow up listening to gospel, soul and r&b and you sing with range and power … you should never be doing simplistic and bublegumm-ish song like this one. This is no Aretha singing “Deeper Love” back in 1994. Plus: Isn’t everybody tired and exhausted of so many vampire-themed movies? I mean,… Read more »

I always listen to “Be My Guest” by Gaitana while being gagged, flogged and tortured in my play room. Doesn’t everyone?
