Earlier this week Greece announced its participation in the 59th Eurovision Song Contest. It will enter the contest under the direction of recently formed state broadcaster NERIT. Now that that’s out of the way we can turn our attention to another question: who will sing for Greece in Copenhagen?

As Star TV reports, NERIT is considering collaborating with MAD TV, a private music channel, in order to stage a national final like last year’s, called “EUROSONG 2014 – a MAD show”. Four songs will compete and the viewers will choose the winner. However, very few labels are interested in participating, and the dates and venue are yet to be decided.

At the same time, Greek starlette Demy has stated that she doesn’t want to sing in Eurovision, as she is too young for this now, and Eleni Foureira, whose name has been very popular with participating in the national final, has not received a proposal yet. It seems that Kostas Martakis, Kristallia and a teen group will sing in the MAD national selection. You can get to know them below!

KOSTAS MARTAKIS

Born on 1984, in Athens, he first sang on 2006, when he participated in “Dream Show, the Music”. His first single was released the same year – “Gia Panta Mazi”, which became golden in Cyprus. Since then he has been releasing new singles, managing to make his own CD on May, 2007. He was also involved in Eurovision, as on 2008, he accepted ERT’s proposal to participate in the national final, with the song “Always and Forever”. Even if he didn’t manage to win, he started a tour at east Europe, in order to promote his song. He has collaborated with “Sony Music” as well as “Universal Music”, and participated in many shows, like “Dancing with the Stars”, MAD VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS, where he is always being nominated, and “Your Face Sounds Familiar”.

KRISTALLIA

Kristallia Rigas was born in Pireaus, Greece, and has studied French Literature, piano and fashion design. She is characterised as a “fashion icon”, due to her countless changes on her appearance. She was member of the famous group “OtherView” from 2009 until  2012, succeeding in releasing 3 digital singles and an album. On 2012 she began solo career and now collaborates with the group “Onirama”. She has also participated in “Your Face Sounds Familiar”, where she won the 3rd place.

ELENI FOUREIRA

Born on 1987 in Kallithea, Athens, this sexy lady was sure from the young age of 4 that she would turn out to be a talented singer. She studied fashion design, and now the clothes she wears on the stage are made by her and her mother. She was member of the girl group “Mystique”, and now appears in many concerts. She has admitted that she is in relationship with the international footballer, George Samaras, with whom she still lives in Kallithea. She has also dabbled with Eurovision, participating in the national final on 2010 with the song “I Kivotos tou Noe”, along with Manos Pirovolakis. They finished 2nd behind Giorgos Alkaios and “OPA”. She has taken part in many shows, like “Just the 2 of Us”, where she won, and MAD VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS, being nominated and awarded every year.

@Leon: It’s called my most honest opinion! It is what it is …and seriously overthinking anything in Eurovision? We are definitively not talking about the same thing much less with Greece with its classic ethnic music choices like these …that for me suck like vomit.

Oh lord here were go again! It’s either because the song is all dancy and shaky and has this huge silly choreography … or it’s all about the male singer being hot and sexy suggesting he should be naked on stage … (Charles, breathe calm down … it’s just like seeing your 8 year old niece screaming hysterically for Justin Bieber …I makes no sense, you will never understand this but it is what it is … ) LOL Out of all 3 I would totally say no to that last girl who in this video is not even singing… Read more »

Kostas can just go on the Copenhagen stage, take his shirt off and stand in silence and will get 12 points from all countries
