Hanna Sky has won the second heat of Finland’s #umk14. Part blonde druid, part Greek goddess, she owned the stage with her number “Hope.” She introduced a crazy back-up dancer who seems to have escaped from Cirque du Soleil: dude would not stop spinning and looked like a dog chasing his own tail. But in the end her music won the day—and a spot in the final.

Officials at YLE have not released the results of the public vote, but we know that Hanna won the jury vote. She narrowly edged out Mikko Pohjola by four points. The gap widened after that. Lauri Mikkola was third with the jury with 26 points, followed by Clarissa and Josh Standing with 25 points and Madcraft with 21.

MAKEA came last with the jury, so will be headed home this evening. Apparently Finland wasn’t feeling them or their song “Painovoima”. They also finished last with our in-house panel of music unprofessionals.

MEeeeeeeeeeeh, I began to like the studio version, but wasn’t a big fan of her performance. That random out of place dancer, wtf? hahaha

I agree with you on one thing, though… “Hope” is a little wishy-washy.

You’re comparing apples and oranges. Wild Dances and Diva weren’t trying to be profound or moving. “Going Down,” on the other hand, intends to set that tone, which is why the vapid lyrics are such a letdown.

Average song with no hint of emotion whatsoever and with no meaningful lyrics. Worse than that? Her shaky unsecure vocals … she was pretty lucky to win but this song is just uninspiring and meaningless. If you are going to write and/or perform a song that has nothing to say (unless of course it’s un upbeat dance song whose main focus is entertain and not teach you the meaning of life) … do me a favour and just… don’t! At least Lauri didn’t win with Rihanna-esque ballad that was upsetting so many people for its “boring and generic lyrics” ..(yeah… Read more »

Disappointing performance honestly, but it’s still one of my favorites. Mikko should win!

Awesome! Love the song, but not so much the outfit. She looked better in the intro shows 😉

I dislike Hope, but I don’t think it will win anyway. Lauri should’ve shown his chest hair again. Clarissa and Josh; practise, practise, practise. I loved Mikko so much.
