Belgium: VRT confirms participants for Eurosong 2014

Apparently you can’t keep a secret in Belgium. Closed auditions took place last year, in search of Belgium’s Eurovision representative for Copenhagen. Producers had hoped to keep the names of the chosen participants a tight secret until the shows officially begin on 2 February. But rumours swirling in the local media have forced the official website Eurosong.be to confirm the names of this year’s contestants.

Veronica & Soetkin

The Fuckuleles

Mooie violistes

One bizarre standout from this list are The Fuckuleles, although their unusual name could fall foul of the EBU. You might be familiar with Veronica and Soetkin, as they were part of the Urban Trad group that represented the country in 2003. Following the success of Roberto Bellarosa last year, we also have a few artists from “The Voice” and “Idol” competing this year.
