Earlier this week, the fashion elite flocked to Paris to watch the likes of Cara Delevingne show off Karl Lagerfeld’s latest designs at the Haute Couture Chanel Show. The audience was packed full of A-list celebs, including Lily Allen and Tilda Swinton. And in the midst of all the glitz was a certain Eurovision alum. But I bet y’all will never guess who…

The New York Times set the scene:

Attendees were greeted by a shimmering silver and white room, complete with rows of comfortable couches facing an undulating white wall. It felt as if we were entering an upscale nightclub, perhaps one that might have been featured in a Busby Berkeley film.

That effect was enhanced when the white wall opened, revealing two matching staircases and a 12-piece orchestra led by …

Who? Who? You might guess Anggun, Amandine Bourgeois, Patricia Kaas or any number of uber glamorous divas. However, the music was actually provided by – Sebastien Tellier. I know, random! Granted the performance was much more subdued than his 2008 stage show, but seriously… Sebastien Tellier? I would never have thought he was haute couture. On the other hand, I know nothing about fashion and I suppose he’s a better choice than the Estonian rejects Winny Puhh, who performed at Rick Owens catwalk show in July.

What do y’all think? You can watch the highlights in the clip below.

This isn’t surprising to me… Tellier is actually quite well-known and respected. Even Pitchfork has reviewed all his albums.
