Eurosong 2014—Ireland’s national selection for Eurovision—is offically on. Earlier today RTE released the competing songs by this year’s finalists Patricia Roe, Eoghan Quigg, Can-linn (featuring Kasey Smith), Andrew Mann and Laura O’Neill. The actual competition takes place on February 28 on The Late Late Show. But you don’t have to wait until then to vote for your favourite. You can listen to each of the songs below and can then vote in our poll. You can vote for as many contestants as you’d like, but you can only vote ONE time.  This poll will close on February 26 at midnight. Let us know what you think in the comments section below!

Betting odds

Just moments after the songs were released, the bookies at PaddyPower released the following odds. We don’t want this to influence your decision, but we just thought you should see what they’re thinking.

Best – Worst in My Opinion
3. Heartbeat
5. You Don’t Remember Me
4. Be Mine
1. Don’t Hold On
2. The Movie Song

They’re all good, don’t get we wrong, but only Heartbeat is in anyway suitable for the Eurovision.

I think that if we send Kasey we could have a great chance of winning the Eurovision Song Contest Copenhagen 2014 because of the following qualities: + Very powerful vocals and lyrics. + Last year in Eurosong 2013 she proved to us that she can sing live. + Very accessible, instant and radio friendly. + The chorus grabs the attention of the listeners. + It is a good mix between Urban pop, soft rock and traditional Irish music. This should make Ireland a voting magnet with both viewers and juries alike. + If it is choreographed meticulously, it will deliver… Read more »

Patricia Roe has beauty, class and a terrific voice. Her song stands out and if people can’t see that then they don’t know anything. Stupid people.

Can Linn – why oh why do we have to buy songs from Sweden – stick a tin whistle on there an a bit of Orish shite and expect to win with that. Last year was the same old crap. Riverdance was 20 years ago. Something more original perhaps?

Feed up voting for Eoghan Quigg. Louis Walsh Said ‘ he wasn’t good enough for his new boy band and dropped him. So now he thinks were going to vote for him again. I suppose with Louis’s help he’ll probably win if Louis’s on the panel. Andrew Mann is class

‘Don’t hold on’ … A terrific ballad. A decent song for a change …. Setting a great standard for Ireland. Best song we’ve had in years. Well done Patricia Roe …. You’re a winner.

34,25% difference between 1st and 2nd place – This is a powerful difference. This is more than a second track received.

Ireland is one of my favorite ESC countries. However, this selection is very disappointing. I like none of these, but if I had to choose one, it would be probably “Heartbeat”. Still – not good enough.

@Eurofan – that’s the picture submitted by Patricia herself.

And she is old enough to be Kasey and Laura’s mum!

1) “Heartbeat”
2) “You Don’t Remember Me”
Those are the only songs that I would like to win, I dislike the others.
3) “The Movie Song”
4) “Don’t Hold On”
5) “Be Mine”

I also noticed the minor similarities of Only Teardrops in Heartbeat.. luckily there is no flute instrument :p

Can-Linn and Laura O’Neill 🙂
That sax break down in Patricia’s song is really 90s lol! Eoghan’s song is something I’d totally go for if I was in my early teens. It is a sweet tune 🙂 Meh at Andrew’s song. Could’ve won Eurovision a couple of decades ago??

The only good song here is from Can-linn ft. Kasey. One OK song is from Laura O’Neill.
The others are kinda boring to me…

Heartbeat is such a “Only Teardrops” wanna be, the songs that are like the previous year winner always fail, I really hope Ireland will choose wisely and send either Laura, either Eoghan.

in those pictures Patricia Roe looks like the mother of Laura and Kasey.

Can-linn 100%. Not a winner but with a bit of tweaking could do fine.

#TeamEoghan despite possibly the most terrible song title since ‘The Social Network Song’.
