A few days ago Aram Mp3 treated us to a cover of Emmelie de Forest’s “Only Teardrops” and you guys were rul rul impressed. But judging from your comments you are less impressed with Daniel Testa’s inadvertant cover of the same song. In fact, some of y’all are shouting PLAGIARISM!

That’s a bit dramatic. It’s true that the opening bars sound like a re-mixed version of the winning Eurovision number, but the song goes in a totally different direction. Unlike Emmelie de Forest’s song, Daniel’s shifts at 1:06 to sound like the opening bars of Dima Bilan’s “Believe”.

Daniel Testa’s “One Last Ride”

Emmelie de Forest’s “Only Teardrops”

Dima Bilan’s “Believe”

In any case, Daniel is a major contender to win tonight’s final in Malta. Will you be supporting him? Or are you rooting for Jessika, Pamela or Davina instead?

Around of 10 songs were copypaste in this song at least. It;s not my fav to Copenhagen. Jessica’s song is another copy from Euphoria. Watta hell is going on in Malta this year?

This could be the copypaste version of any other song out there … that does not overshadow the fact that this is cheesy and cheap. Another dance tune with nothing remarkable and lyrics that have rewritten trizillions times before. Malta has done way better than this in the past, so please … raise the bar … do not lower it further with such a boring song. Don’t let yourself be blinded by the beats …

One Last Ride sounds like typical chinese song…especially the chorus

I can’t hear it at all. They both sound like completely different songs.
I suppose it’s the issue with Eurovision fans atm. Every song they dislike is apparently plagiarised. Songs of the same genre have got similar beats, and when you have 35-40 songs a year, there will be similarities, this isn’t plagiarism. Plagiarism is a serious accusation and people should shop doing what happened last year, by accusing every song with a dance track as a plagiarism of Euphoria.

Sounds nothing like Only Teardrops. I’m more concerned about how Daniel’s vocals than the plagiarism claim itself, nonetheless I’m going for Daniel.

I usually feel bad for Malta as they don’t come up with something specially. This is one of those bad years, I’m really not impressed with any entry.

However, I think One Last Ride has the rhythm from Only Teardrops with some beat from You and Me, by Takasa. And even though I loved both entries, I find One Last Ride sooo dull.

I never liked Daniel’s song, and I was actually surprised so many people supported him. I don’t see where people are getting plagiarism from. Tonight, I’ll be watching Melodifestivalen (obviously 😛 ) but I’ll be rooting for Christabelle, Jessika, and Davinia in Malta.
