Last weekend Firelight won the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2014. That may have divided our readers, but one aspect of the show probably did not. Surely everyone agrees that last year’s Junior Eurovision winner Gaia Cauchi was amazing during the interval. Our only regret is that she isn’t old enough to compete in the adult contest.

She performed her winning song “The Start” at the beginning of the show along with La Voix Music Academy, where she also receives vocal training. Well done, La voix!

The next day—in the same venue, at the same time and with the same song—she performed at the Malta Music Awards. However, there was one foot-stomping difference. Check it out for yourselves.

Is this a new dance hit? Should Pitbull and his friends step out of ‘da club and let Gaia do her thang? Special shout out to whoever made her piano keyboard skirt!

For someone her age, she has an awesome sense of rhythm.

She’s just adorable, I hope to see her representing Malta in the adult Eurovision when she’s older.
