The first semi-final of Eesti Laul 2014 took place earlier this evening. Ten songs competed and five passed through to the final. We know the contest featured plenty of clowns (#crazy), but we have a more pressing question: did you hear any potential winners?

The second semi-final of Eesti Laul 2014 will take place on 21 February 2014. Ten songs will compete for five spots in the final with the outcome to be decided by the combination of votes from a jury and televoting. Fan favourite Sandra Nurmsalu will be competeing in the second semi-final. After the second semi we will know the final line up of Eesti Laul 2014!

Gutted August Hunt got eliminated. Interesting, unexpected results here :O I felt Tanja treated it more as an appearance on So You Think You Can Dance / Strictly or w/e… Somebody told me the vocals were pre-recorded in the studio, but with no edits? Technically live, but not when they were on stage? Idk. Maybe that was a language barrier with whom I was speaking. Clowns were my fave hehehe

Yeah I saw that, I really want to hear the full performance of Maiken’s song. 😛
We could see recap of 2nd semi final and it seemed that it will be better a lot. And Sandra Nurmsalu will be awesome.
I cannot wait to hear Maiken’s song. If it goes to Eurovision it will be my #1.
From all 20 songs, I liked the most Tanja’s song. And after THAT live performance, I’m in love with that song & performance. What a voice.
Everything else was around mediocre.
By the way, after last year “show” in which the stage was anything but a stage, I can see that this year they fired the stage designer and got a new one. Nice. I still hate those singers singing the name of the song and the artists name.
I think they got it right. Not all personal favourites, but none undeserving. “Resignal” by Wilhelm is my favourite song by a decent margin. Just so beautiful; subtle, complex, dynamic, tense, yet soothing … mmmm. Is it too much to hope others will feel the same? They made it this far at least. When Tanja opened the show, my first thought was, “Oh. I commend Tanja for that performance! It is so difficult to dance to that extent and still manage to hold a tune. Great work!

There was a lot of boring songs IMO! My two favourite songs didn’t even qualify.
The semi final was a big meh. Tanja made it, but so did my bottom 2 (Korsikud and Super Hot Cosmos Blue Band)
I loved Tanja! She was my favourite, great dance track with solid vocals. Lenna was my second favourite, I wasn’t bothered about any other performances really. Semi final 2 is a lot more tough I think.
