The Eurovision 2014 contestants and songs are being chosen faster than we can say douze points. To see where things stand we are asking you to choose your favourite Eurovision act each week as new contestants are introduced. We open the poll on Sunday evening, and we close it on Friday afternoon. Italy’s Emma Marrone managed to win week 1 and week 2. But can she maintain her position now that we’re throwing Iceland’s Pollapönk into the mix? (Don’t roll your eyes. Different strokes for different folks).

So let us know: Who is your favourite Eurovision contestant so far?

Contestants chosen by February 16

Albania: Hersiana Matmuja with “Zemërimi i një nate”

Belarus: Teo with “Cheesecake”

Finland: Softengine with “Something Better”

Iceland: Pollapönk with “Enga fordóma” (No racism)

Italy: Emma Marrone with “La Mia Citta”

Malta: Firelight with “Coming Home”

Switzerland: Sebalter with “Hunter of Stars”

Ukraine: Maria Yaremchuk with “Tick-Tock”

Just a thought:

Wouldn’t it be interesting if instead of English or Albanian, Hersi sings her song in Italian? I’m guessing that she is at least proficient, if not fluent, in Italian, and there is always a touch of class in that language as well.

Hard for me to understand why Italy’s song is so loved, for me is the biggest dissapointment so far, after 3 years in which Italy looked really strong. The only entries I can say are not bad are: Switzerland, Finland and Albania.

Still, Malta will qualify. 4. Albania – Nice and peaceful, her voice compliments the song… will go through to the final, and it wont do bad. 5. Finland – Not my type, but I can see it just qualifying, then crashing in the final. 6. Switzerland – Boring. Silly. Will fail like last year 7. Iceland – Meh, stupid. No chance… Read more »

Horrible level this year, I can’t accept the result of Iceland. WHY???? Please… good songs come back! 1- ITALY (I thinks she is the only one by now with a decent song & voice) 2- SWITZERLAND (I love his song… but he is not the best singer) 3- ALBANIA (beautiful voice, but maybe the song can be boring…) 4- FINLAND (they are great too, but is not my cup fo tea) 5- UKRAINE (I bet Ukraine will improve the song with a great coreography, lights…) 6- BELARUS (He is a good singer, and is not the final version) 7- MALTA… Read more »

If Greta was the winner on Iceland, yesterday she would be my number one today. Then, TEO is still being my number one. Follow by Sebalter from Switzerland and Marija from Ukraine

Can’t wait for Spain, Hungary, and Latvia to add a decent song to the mix, after five disasters (as in all but Finland, Albania, and Italy).

I especially hope Latvia can add a decent song to improve their not-so-stellar record (Saule riet or Here I Am Again would be good choices). Hungary always seems out of the mix because they never had that many reliable voting partners.

Albania’s still by far my favourite. But if Latvia and Hungary both end up picking the best song’s they have, they’d be on the top.
