Sometimes late at night when we can’t sleep, we think about what Valentina Monetta would sound like as a man, and what Moje 3 would sound like if they overdosed on testosterone. OK, not really. But recently Zoe, one of our readers, got in touch with a discovery she had made on YouTube that did trigger these questions.
“A long time ago, I accidentally stumbled upon edited versions of songs, and saw that a lot of people made genderflipped, chipmunked, or Darth Vader-ized versions of songs,” she says. “So I thought I’d search to see if people have done the same with Eurovision songs too. Curiosity paid off!” She found Birgit Oigemeel singing her Eurovision song several octaves lower. If she closed her eyes and listened to Krista Siegfrids, Zoe could imagine the “Marry Me” singer with a mustache!

Et Uus Saaks Alguse was in my top 10 last year, beautiful song.
LOL I love these. So bizarre like Valentina & Elitsa & Stoyan. Some are not so bad either. LOL @ Krista. A guy should really consider covering Birgit’s song :’)

I really like balkan girls and et uus saaks alguse like this. And also ? think this 2 song haven’t deserved their position in their contest. Especially et uus saaks alguse is a powerful and emotional song and estonian is such a magical language like swedish

I actually like Europhia better this way. I’m not sure if Only Teardrops would have still won like this, though. Emmelie was magic. Now it’d be awesome to see some male vocalists turned into girls!
Wow, they all sounded very good with male vocals. I especially liked Euphoria, Only Teardrops, Et uus saaks alguse. Had Krista, Elitsa and Moje 3 presented this version, they’d all have done 100% better!! 😀
