Unexpectedly crashing out of the semifinals of Eurovision 2013 hasn’t stopped Israeli state broadcaster IBA from going big. As y’all already know, they are preparing a mega show for their internally selected contestant Mei Finegold.

The Kokhav Nolad star filmed videoclips for the three songs over the course of one week. She will present those songs on February 27 in the The way to Copenhagen show. The winning song will be selected solely by the SMS votes from the public and the results will be published on March 5 in the Kdam Eurovision 2014 show.

One of the rules for this year’s song selection is that one of the three songs had to be written and chosen by Mei herself. The rest was decided via public submissions. A total of 78 songs were received. A special committe shortlisted 10 songs, and eventually chose two.

Mei wrote a song called Be Proud and filmed a special video at the Reading Power Station in Tel-Aviv. Is that a sign it will be ELECTRIC?!

The next song was written by Rami Talmid. It’s called Same Heart. They shot the video for that one in the Hameginim forest near Jerusalem and in an abandoned industrial area. GRITTY, POST-APOCALYPTIC REALNESS!

Finally, Mei stopped by the Israel Railways museum in Haifa to shoot the third video for her song Nish’eret iti. She sings inside a train for this one. The song was written by Loren de Paz and Chen Metzger Eder.

Here is what Mei said after the filming was finished:

“I didn’t realise the fact that we shot three videoclips in one week. It was very challenging and interesting. Facing a project like this was very different from everything I knew, as decisions had to be made right away and without a plan B. But this was very magical as well. The whole team gave its heart and soul for this project and the work was very professional and fun. Every location turned right away to a place of joy and laughter. The final results are being prepared right now in the editing rooms and I can’t wait to let the public hear the songs and watch the videoclips. I hope that everyone will be pleased, just like me.”
