The 24 singers competing in this year’s edition of O melodie pentru Europa drew the all-important running order for the two semi-finals at TeleRadio Moldova headquarters yesterday. Boris Covali, who controversially replaced his selected song “Flying” with “Perfect Day”, will open the first semi-final on 11 March, followed by Olia Tira (pictured above), as vocalist of band FLUX LIGHT. Another O melodie pentru Europa veteran, Cristina Scarlat, will open the second semi-final, on 13 March.

An unexpected presence is Hannah Mancini, the US singer who lives in Slovenia and represented the country with “Straight Into Love” last year. She co-wrote the song “One And All”, which will be performed by Diana Staver in the second semi-final.

Semi-final 1 running order (11 March)

1. Boris Covali – “Perfect Day”
2. FLUX LIGHT – “Never Stop No”

Semi-final 2 running order (13 March)

1. Cristina Scarlat – “Wild Soul”
2. Anna Gulko – “Happy Tomorrow”
3. Curly – “Your Recovery”
4. Diana Staver – “One And All”

11. Glam Girls – “You Believed In Me”

Seven artists from each semi-final will go to the final by 50% televoting and 50% jury votes, while, as a first for O melodie pentru Europa,, an eighth artist will move on based by televoting alone.

The national final of the Moldovan selection will take place on 15 March, when 16 artists will compete to follow in the footsteps of Aliona Moon, who represented the country at Eurovision in 2013. She finished 11th at the Grand Final in Malmö with the gorgeous song “O mie”, penned by Pasha Parfeny.

Have you listened to all the songs of the Moldovan national selection? Are you rooting for anyone in particular?
