It’s time for Moldova, the small Eastern-European country that has brought some of the most memorable Eurovision entries in recent years, to choose its representative on 15 March. But until then, the 24 acts that were selected via a lengthy live audition have to go through two semi-finals next week. Who do you think should qualify from the first semi-final on 11 March?

Listen to the songs below, listed in the running order drawn by the contestants last week, cast your vote in our poll, and then defend your favourites in the comments section. Voting closes on the morning of 11 March, the day of the first semi-final, when we will announce the poll results. Also, y’all keep an eye out for the poll for the second semi-final, two days from now!

Apparently Moldova has better NF (music-wise) than other West nations. Hah. And kudos (???) for them for making live auditions and showing them for ALL of the submitted songs. Imagine Sweden doing this. 😀

There are strong songs. I like the ethno in some of them, it’s quite good mixed (“Energy”) even though nowadays that may not pass.

I’ll vote for Vlad Ray & Flux Light, just because.

Note: lovely girls here. Note #2: bad English detected – Tatiana.

@Carmen. Okay, thanks. I knew that, but didn’t know that “Romanian” was now acceptable until you inspired me to do some homework 🙂

Well this isn’t my year for picking songs, since I thought Paralela 47 was a great choice…it’s lively and fun…and not popular at all!

Zolan, Moldovan language doesnt exist. In Moldova the official language is Romanian.

@Robyn. An excellent sentiment, I like the way you think.
Doinita certainly is due for a win, but I’m not so thrilled by “Energy.”
“Asculta-ma, tacere” excites me most, and I’m sure it would warm that taxi driver’s heart as well, particularly being in Moldovan.

“The Way I Do” is somewhat behind, but I do like a dash of DnB.
“Turn the Tide” is very nice, too.

“The Way I Do” would have to be my favourite. Don’t see what everyone loves in “Energy”.
