The United Kingdom’s Eurovision act Molly Smitten-Downes has been long-listed for the influential Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition 2014. The competition offers new and unsigned artists in the UK and Ireland an opportunity to perform on one of the main stages at  Glastonbury Festival 2014.

Previous recipients of the award have included Scouting For Girls. The acts are judged by a panel of around 40 UK music professionals and then a long list of 120 acts is compiled. The long list will then be short-listed to 8 acts before a live performance in April decides which act receives the coveted slot.

Smitten-Downes received huge media attention on Monday following her announcement as the UK’s act for Eurovision 2014 with her song ‘Children of the Universe’. As a Big 5 act, Molly and her song have automatically qualified for the Grand Final and will perform on the 10th May B & W Hallerne in Copenhagen.
