This year Norwegian Broadcaster NRK put the Eurovision decision in the hands of tele-voters alone. The 9 acts who advanced from the semi-finals did so on the basis of a public vote without any jury input. However, a rigorous professional system screened all candidates, resulting in the roster of fifteen acts who made it to the semi-finals. A professional jury has also provided commentary through each of the semi-finals, gently nudging voters to do the right thing.
You can listen to each of the competing songs below and can then vote for your favourite. You can vote for as many contestants as you like but you may only vote ONCE. The poll will close at midnight on the 14th of May.
Will second time prove a charm for Elisabeth Carew after her 2010 entry ‘Rocket Fuel’? Will Linnea Dale’s quirkiness work in her favour? Or will Carl Epsen’s understated production and performance storm to victory?

9. Oda and Wulff (easily the worst) 8. Dina Misund (could get lost in the storm from my top 3 and one of the other also-rans) 7. Knut Kippersund Nesdal 6. El Cuero 5. Mo 4. Charlie (a catchy tune, but not as catchy as Ace Wilder’s) 3. Elisabeth Carew (good enough, I think, to keep Norway in the top 10) 2. Carl Espen (one of the best I’ve heard from Europe; but he could go either top 5 or somewhere near Eyþór’s final outcome, no in-between) 1. Linnea Dale (using the Margaret Berger playbook; if it ain’t broke, don’t… Read more »
Go Norway. Great finale, I hope it will be a fight between Silent Storm, an amazing song, and High Hopes. Both songs will surely be able to win it for Norway. The jurys will go bananas over Silent Storm and they should too 🙂 People saying its not memorable I don’t understand. Its pretty much the only one i do remember purely because of class. Denmark cheers for norway this year. At least one dane living in Norway will 🙂
Silent Storm is the only song thats made me stop in my tracks. Wow… if it could win!!! Fully support it!
MY OPINION: Linnea Dale with “High Hopes” SUPER FINAL Elisabeth Carew with “Sole Survivor” SUPER FINAL Carl Espen with “Silent Storm” SUPER FINAL Mo with “Heal” SUPER FINAL OUT: Knut Kippersund Nesdal with “Taste of You” Oda & Wulff with “Sing” Charlie with “Hit Me Up” Dina Misund with “Needs” El Cuero with “Ain’t No Love (In This City No More)” SUPER FINAL (Classification) 1° Elisabeth Carew with “Sole Survivor” (best song to send to Eurovision) 2° Linnea Dale with “High Hopes” (beautiful song, it will appeal to other Scandinavian countries) 3° Carl Espen with “Silent Storm” (this song stay… Read more »
Just like Sanna Nielsen, I don’t understand the hype surrounding Carl Espen. He can’t sing for Christ’s sake and the song is beyond awful. Once again, you fans are making the contest look bad by supporting such rubbish. Sometimes I just want to get a shovel and smack some bloody sense into your heads….
Bye bye Norway!!! Since you try to pick SOLE SURVIVOR as your entry, you will flop in COPENHAGEN!!!
Your result says a lot about your attitude. Lena-Fans?
My favourite is Mo, but I only know the studio version of this song, therefore… I am not sure.
The clips from Mo, Carew and Espen are blocked in Germany. Could you upload them again?
@D: No, no wildcard this year. My absolute favourite is “High Hopes”, but there’s very little I hate in the Norwegian final. There were about 5 songs from the semis I was still able to hum afterwards, and “Silent Storm” wasn’t one of them. I don’t find Carl Espen (both are first names by the way, so it’s like a double name – his last name is Thorbjørnsen) very engaging, as in I don’t connect with him at all – maybe that’s why the song leaves me a little cold. That said, I don’t connect with Linnea all that much… Read more »
Norway is better than Sweden
1.Mo
2. Elisabeth Carew
3. Carl Espen
4. Knut Kippersund Nesdal
5. Charlie
“Silent Storm”…..I am almost sure Norway has the ESC 2014 winner with this song. I am not expecting any surprises from other countries
ps: I never missed the ESC winner in the last 14 years. Although I have to admit this has been a very tough year…ALMOST sure!!
Also I think im just a lil bit in love with that knut
I have to say that the whole idea of Silent Storm being unmemorable is something I really don’t get. I heard it and my first thought was EUROVISION WINNER. That said he has huge competition from Linnea Dale. I think that that says something about the calibre of the Norwegian final. I like Sole Survivor as well, but it is one of those songs which is freakishly hard to sing well live unless you’re Beyonce so I don’t know how that would do. For me Espen if chosen – WINNER Linnea if chosen – Top 5 Carew if chosen –… Read more »
I disagree with you all. SILENT STORM is a memorable song and with a brilliant stage presentation, it would crack the top 5 or could win the whole shebang. If this could win for Norway, it would join my other faves: Sweden, Israel and United Kingdom!!!
My favourite is Silent Storm, but I think it would be in Norway’s best interest to send High Hopes or Sold Survivor. The reason for this, is despite the bookies going crazy over Silent Storm, the song isn’t overly memorable and a bad draw could see it get forgotten and slaughtered with the points.
Even love Taste of You, such a catchy & sweet melody 😀
Would love to see High Hopes take it. Invigorating performance!! Carl Espen is my favourite song in studio version. I think it might win… or maybe pull a Mikael Saari. There are some fantastic songs in the final 😀 Sole Survivor, Heal, Needs.. even dig Hit Me Up for its bubble gum. Sing kind of annoys me though 😛
My top 5
1. Carl Espen
2. Knut Kippersund Nesdal
3. Charlie
4. Elisabeth Carew
5. Linnea Dale

@sam I’m not being racist.
That means that he might not qualify to the final (like Stella) or finish last if he qualifies (like Tooji).
@Mr.M Why is Mo another Tooji/Stella Mwangi moment? His song isn’t at all ethnic so I can only assume you are referring to the colour of his skin…wow…please go away
How is silent storm #1 on here? Are people here deaf or something?
HIT ME UP all the way!
1) Linnea Dale with “High Hopes”
2) Elisabeth Carew with “Sole Survivor”
3) Dina Misund with “Needs”
4) Carl Espen with “Silent Storm”
5) Charlie with “Hit Me Up”
6) Oda & Wulff with “Sing”
7) Mo with “Heal”
8) Knut Kippersund Nesdal with “Taste of You”
9) El Cuero with “Ain’t No Love (In This City No More)”
I’d be happy with either of my top 2 winning. Also isn’t there supposed to be a wildcard?
I just love High hopes <3 If Norway sends it, Linnea will undoubtedly be one of the best. I wouldn't mind Carl Epen winning though.
Please Norway send Linnea or Carl!
Don’t do what your neighbours have done to the best entries in their national selections and send Michael Jackson wannabe Mo!!!
Mo = Another Tooji/Stella Mwangi moment!!!
I’m torn between Sole Survivor and Silent Storm, both very different but good songs in their own way. Also, I think I’m the only one here who also supports El Cuero 😛
Sole survivor is just magnificent, best song in the Norweign final. If Norway wants to do well vote for Sole Survivor!!!!
Mo
High hopes,Sole Survivor,Taste of you would do well on Eurovision Competition… But Silent Storm would do great !
I’ve got “High Hopes” for Norway’s entry this year.
Sorry. But yeah, Linnea for the win.
Best: Sole survivor, worst: Heal
Linnea or Carl :3
Sole survivor
I´m not totally blown away by our national pre-selection, sadly! “Sole Survivor” is the only song I actually like this year. Basically because there is variation between chorus and verse. “High Hopes” lacks a more defined chorus, which would have made the song easier to get through. “Silent Storm” is not my cup of tea, sorry, I have a hard time remembering the song.
Carl Espen is, by far, the best music on contest this year. Not only at Norway…
Knut because “Silent Storm” is a bit boring and Linnea’s out of tune most of the time.
Other songs – either not interested or appalling
High quality on all songs in the top3 in this poll. I would root for silent storm. Think it will do excellent in Copenhagen. Best of luck from your blue yellow neighboor.
Linnea or Knut for me
Linnea Dale is best choice for Norway. On the second Mo and on third place Elisabeth, than Carl Espen he flop after semi final for me from my second to fourth place , because he is to acting on stage in semi final performance.
Linnea Dale is the best of them, no doubt.
High hopes and Linnea Dale for the victory!
“HIGH HOPES” or “SILENT STORM” please!!!! And please, for the love of God, don’t send “HEAL” or “SOLE SURVIVOR”!!!!
