Almost one year after he shot to Eurovision stardom with “It’s My Life”, Cezar is releasing his first pop-opera album “The Voice of Love”.

Love him or love-to-hate him, Cezar “The Voice” Ouatu put his indelible mark on last year’s Eurovision Song Contest, when he belted out his song “It’s My Life”, bringing Romania to the Grand Final, where he eventually finished in 13th place.

This year, the countertenor made good on his promise and dropped his debut pop-opera album. Its title, “The Voice of Love”, is an obvious reference to Cezar’s nickname “The Voice” and hints at the theme of the record, which indeed comprises mostly love songs. (Surprisingly, “It’s My Life” is not included.)

Cezar The Voice Of Love

“The Voice of Love” is a collection of different rhythms, ranging from the romantic covers of memorable tracks from films like “Cinema Paradiso”, “The Godfather”, “Romeo and Juliet”, an operatic aria in a pop interpretation of “Who Wants to Live Forever”, to last year’s follow up single “Painful Love”. The record is an imaginary sound travel in time and an impressive love declaration from soul to soul, dedicated to all who love and are loved.

For now, the album is on sale in Romania only, but the singer promises that it will be available on iTunes before long. (Update 17.04: It is now available on iTunes as well!) Meanwhile, you can listen to some of the songs on Cezar’s SoundCloud profile. Our favourite is “Amore”, which is included as a bonus track:

When I first heard Cezar in the semi-final I thought it was awful. Byt the night of the final it was my 2nd favorite entry (after Zlata). He’s an amazing talent and boy does he push the boundaries.

@Dhani…I did not think you referred to Cezar or Cezar only anyway…I was saying in general that most of your comments are negative on wiwibloggs…anyway it does not matter.

I’m just saying that ESC 2013 was one of the worst contests ever. Nothing about Cezar

I liked Cezar last year, I think his proposal was interesting and refreshingly different, of course as expected, it didn’t appeal to everyone, as it always happens with this kind of styles, but I enjoyed it. I’m loving this new track Amore, I hope to manage to get this album in the future, would love to hear more from him (:

@Dhani: you’re full of negativity…nothing seems to make you happy regarding Eurovision…at least based on your comments on this site…Maybe have a glass or 2 of wine and see if you can see life in a different way!

I’m not one of Cezar’s crazy fans and I think I’ll just listen to whatever is posted on YT rather than buying any album, but I think his show last year was great, regardless of how controversial or misunderstood it was.

I think last year’s eurovision edition was one of the worst ever
