The heavy whistling in Sebalter’s song “Hunter of Stars” was born of necessity. Last summer the Swiss heartthrob was traveling by bus through America when the melody came to him. “It was at night between Kansas City and Denver and I took a motor coach and I got this motivation,” he told wiwiblogger Deban Aderemi at the London Eurovision Party. “I basically traveled all the time by Greyhound. Since I was not traveling with an instrument with me…I started recording the melodies on my phone by whisteling.”
And we’re so glad he did. His song is catchy, infectious and inviting. That warmth and light-heartedness continues in the music video, which shows a hotel employee getting into all sorts of trouble while he’s trying to have a bit of fun.
“[It’s about] a guy feeling the pressure of the hierarchy and trying to be light and to love music and we thought the hotel location is quite good because you can work in the kitchen, or as a bag guy,” he says. “There are different kinds of situation where we can announce this willingness, this freedom.”
Deban also informed Sebalter that he is still in the running to become Eurovison’s Next Top Male Model. His reaction is precious as he is so modest and so surprised….
