Eurovision rehearsals don’t start until tomorrow, but that hasn’t stopped our readers from forming opinions and voting for their favourites. As of April 27 at 8:00 GMT, they have cast a total of 69,842 votes in our poll “Who Will Win Eurovision 2014?” That’s an increase of 19,900 votes since we last checked in on April 19.

If our readers are any indicator, then Ireland’s Can-Linn feat. Kasey Smith has emerged as the dark horse to win Eurovision 2014. Smith, a sultry siren with a Celtic spirit, has claimed 21,734 votes for her song “Heartbeat”, or around 31% of all votes cast. That’s an increase of 13,422 votes since last week. Ireland is also sitting at the top of our Wiwi Jury rankings. As of April 27 we had reviewed 25 songs, and Ireland was the only nation to average a score of 8 or higher. Hold on to Kasey’s “Heartbeat”, y’all…

Armenia’s Aram Mp3, who got his start as a singing comedian, has slipped into second place, despite adding 2,824 votes in the past seven days. The “Not Alone” singer will be the first to rehearse tomorrow. He recently revealed that he’ll be performing alone on stage and that his costume will resemble the clothes from his music video. He currently has 16,361 votes, or around 23%.

Azerbaijan’s Dilara remains in third place with 7,471 votes, or around 11% of all those cast. She did very well with our jury, with one of our jurors describing her song “Start a Fire” as “flawless”. Hungary’s Kallay-Saunders agrees: he recently performed a cover of Dilara’s song on Hungarian TV.

The United Kingdom’s Molly Smitten-Downes, who recently performed in Malta, has jumped two spots, moving from sixth place with 1,856 votes to fourth place with 2,297 votes (or just over 3%). Perhaps her boho-chic music video helped lure fans to her side?

Romania’s Paula Seling & Ovi, who feature a piano covered in grass in their “Miracle” music video, are holding steady. Over the past week they gained 274 votes to remain in fifth place.

Other countries gaining ground include Sweden’s Sanna Nielsen, who recently saw her Eurovision dress for the first time. She’s moved from 10th place to 9th, passing Greece’s Freaky Fortune in the process.

Eurovision’s Next Top Model front-runner Mariya Yaremchuk has notched up several places. The Ukrainian beauty, who recently told us all about love, was in 24th place last week with just 303 votes. Today she’s in 15th place with 562 votes.

What do you think of the results below? Who is YOUR favourite? Let us know in the comments box below!

Now out of the blue we are suddenly in a market with the wall street dance of doom and gloom and
it is a festive occasion. Maybe I should be creative and try to invent a way to get out of the bill.
Lemelson said, ‘It was hoped that the articles would
help the readers think beyond just the immediate issues to the larger human issues, including the problems of economic injustice that arise from asymmetrical knowledge.

Hi Easpag, RyanIreland, Darren and Cathal Listen, When I finished studying, I read the Herald and I found out something and don’t get me wrong, but we are now one of the top 10 favourites to win the Eurovision this year. They rank joint 8th with Conchita Wurst at odds of 25/1. Not bad, eh? I really did not expect that!!!!!!!! 😀 I hope we win it this year. But do you know what, the UK will most likely win and if they do, in a way, that’s kind of a win for us as well because you know how… Read more »

My second evaluation looks like this:

7. Sweden (-1)
8. France (-4)

Hi Deven!

Just wait and see… Look what happened last year with all the hype for Ryan… I’m sure that “Heartbeat” won’t be in the top 10 this year. Don’t place your bets on Ireland, it’s a friendly advice…

Deven O'Kearney

Hi Srebrenko

Ireland to fail. Ha Ha Ha. Funny joke. Ireland will 90% be in the final of Eurovision 2014 and will probably come in the Top 10 this year.

Srebrenko

The results of this poll are so funny. Ireland to win? Really? That is certainly not going to happen! They will struggle to qualify and may lose that battle. Belarus 6th? Really? They may not qualify either. F.Y.R. Macedonia 12th, Poland 14th and Slovenia 16th while Denmark 21st? What a joke! But it will be hilarious if Ukraine wins due to politics.

THIS IS THE MOST ACCURATE PREDICTION OF ALL PREDICTIONS:
1. Ukraine 240 – 270 points
2. Estonia 180 – 210 points
3. Romania 150 – 180 points
4. Russia 150 – 180 points
5. Ireland 120 – 150 points

@hohohoho
OGAE is not reliable. In OGAE Armenia gave 12 points to Sweden. Huh? That’s never going to happen in real voting, since Armenia’s #1 competition is Sweden. Also, don’t forget, nonparticipating countries also vote in OGAE and that score becomes unrealistic.

@everyone
Kasey Smith’s and Dilara’s live performances really suck ! Check it out. Molly, on the other end, is better. I’ve watched everyone’s live performance and I think some of them are 1000 times better than Ireland. For example,
Albania, Montenegro, Israel, Denmark, Spain, Armenia, and a few more. Ireland will barely make to 20th place after the voting.

Sweden wins = people unhappy and upset about another Scandinavian win
Armenia or Romania wins = people unhappy because of diaspora voting
Azerbaijan wins = people unhappy for possible rigging
United Kingdom or Ireland loses = Brits and Irish unhappy because of political voting

Is there a way to do Eurovision without knowing what country the singer is from so that people can stop all this complaining rubbish nonsense?

Folks: What do these voters get about the Irish entry that I’m totally missing? I struggle to remember the song straight after hearing it and it feels one of the blandest of the pack this year. Reading the Wiwi jury comments and scores made me wonder whether I was listening to the wrong song…

I think there’s only 3 countries with a realistic chance of winning – Armenia, Hungary and UK. The ballads are going to cancel each other out with the votes from those liking ballads being heavily spread. I think that Armenia is quite likely to get 12s from the ex-soviets and Israel (not Azerbaijan, of course), so they could win with that. The soviet support may be concentrated on Armenia. Hungary have got a very good song which is going to attract a lot of attention, especially from the juries, and will do quite well. The UK’s is quite anthemic and… Read more »

Well my view in the past few years is that since 2006 it has moved between various voting areas, it came to finland down to serbia over to Russia, back to Norway down to Germany across to Azerbaijan and back over to Sweden and across to Denmark, I reckon it could be a Mediterranian winner or a country outside of the majority voting areas (Scandinavia, Former USSR etc)

Fatima
Fatima

Timo said “It’s ridiculous that people say Sweden shouldn’t win because they won in 2012”.
I agree with “shouldn’t”, but I think it will happen.Voters will think “not Scandinavia again, let’s give someone else a turn.” After all it was that sort of sentiment which helped Sanna win at the Melodifestivalen, the feeling it was her time after so many near-misses. So I predict that there will be a message of Scand-fatigue in the mass vote on the 10th.

really dont like the irish song this year for the 1st time in ages. i still think aram will win, sanna’s voice is amazing obvs but the song is boring to me. she’ll come 2nd though. what we have to remember though is the running order. say sanna aram or molly get 2nd in the order, theyve got no chance whatsoever.

Very encouraging performance by our Irish entry this year. Especially as this website correctly predicted Ryan Dolan’s televote result. But remember where we finished last year. I have a feeling that we’re going to be slated by the judges this year again. Best case for us would be 10th – 15th. Can’t see us placing any higher than that… and that’s the absolute best case scenario.

To be honest with you, I think 12 points will be going to either Ireland or Spain (Only because Ruth Lorenzo came fifth in The X Factor 2008.) .

Apart from Estonia, Macedonia and Norway, where is Ireland the favourite to win Eurovision 2014?

IRELAND<3 The Irish entry is my favourite to win & for all yous criticising the votes Ireland got, you have to remember IRELAND IS FAVOURITE TO WIN IN 6 COUNTRIES & she has already charted in the TOP 40 in UK a few years back in the known girl band: Wonderland! Recently Armenia & Sweden's bookie odds have been slashed around Europe because over the last couple of weeks they have been losing momentum while Ireland has been gaining lots/their chances have been increasing & so has radio plays around Eurovision countries! She has a great song, with a Celtic… Read more »

My favourites are: Armenia, Sweden, Denmark and The United Kingdom, although I wouldn’t mind Hungary, Norway or Israel. In a past few days I started to like Germany’s song, too, although I didn’t like it at first. If we avoid Scandinavia, I think the winner should be Armenia or The United Kingdom. But we have to hear (and see) their live performances to get a final decision.
