Patrick: I really adored the background and the atmosphere during the Common Linnets’ first rehearsal at Eurovision. The waving grass, the big tree in the middle and the dim lights – it’s just great. They have great voices, but I can’t say this video shows them off. And they really shouldn’t dont stand in place like a pair of lamps – they should show us more the feelings we know they have. But hey: this is great for a first rehearsal.
Wiwi: I wasn’t a huge fan of this song until I saw Ilse and Waylon rehearse. Taking a cue from Anouk, they understand that pared down and dark can really work. It’s organic to their number and helps draw out the emotion of the song. Although they do stand in place, the camera angles and all the panning in and out give this a bit of dynamism. Don’t let the 30-second clip fool you! The rain falls and the wind blows—but the Common Linnets still shine…
