Hot off her stellar first rehearsals today, Israel’s Mei Finegold unveiled a new video for her song “Same Heart”. Because why not, that’s why.
Seriously though, we were also left scratching our heads after watching her new video, considering that the first one, which was released back in February, was much more complex, sleek and simply flawless:
Later, we found out that the new video was made as a promotion clip for Eilat, the seaside tourist resort that appears as a backdrop in many of the shots. Apparently the municipality sponsored Mei’s participation in Eurovision.
Eilat is a port at the northernmost tip of the Red Sea, which is also the southernmost tip of Israel. It looks rather hot and a perfect vacation spot if you like lying in the sun by the sea. Speaking of hot, Mei Finegold is positively steamy in the new video, but of course we knew that beforehand. Loving the dresses and the shoes. Werk it, gurl!
We like the fact that, in her last shot, she’s hitchhiking to Copenhagen. Well, we can definitely say that Mei has arrived!

Ironically, Petra was the entire reason I was in Eilat. I could have easily skipped it, as the town has barely much to do other than scuba and beach stuff.
This song is the best one this year, but her first video was better. Go Israel!

@ Sopon – Your comment reminded me of something! If you’re willing to visit Petra (which is awesome and a wonderfully preserved site), you should go all the way down to Eilat and then cross over. Definitely worth it!

You aren’t a native English speaker? I’m shocked. You have probably some of the best English on this site.
I remember when I was in Eilat, it was about 110 degrees Fahrenheit (I’m guessing 45 Celcius?) and got burned so badly. It was mid-August, so that is probably normal. So many tourists there are day-trippers who want to go into Jordan or Egypt for a few hours across the border (there is no entrance from Jerusalem), so Eilat might now be trying to make some money on it’s own strengths rather than on that of Jordan or Egypt.
English is not my language either.

Eilat is scorching hot, and if you dare wander away from the very beach, the marina or the luxurious seaside hotels, you’re done for. That said, it IS a nice beach resort if you like to remain by the sea all day long (it is oppressively hot at night as well in high summer). Well done for the promotion anyway. I’m guessing she only made it for the sponsorship as her 1st video is good enough.
The beaches look awesome though, and I just love that cutie dolphin appearing at 2:22.

nobody wanted, needed or asked for a second video. the first wasn’t a master piece but this one is ridiculous
Eilat is a very nice city, but the new video does not kick butt like the other one. Thankfully it is just an advertisement, and not the official music video.
