It is little secret Maria Yaremchuk is one of Team Wiwi’s favourite slayers at this year’s Contest. She looks fierce, she sings fierce and she dances fierce.
So it came as little surprise to us that the Ukrainian contestant didn’t just hone her stagecraft when she appeared at the Ukrainian National Selection in 2013 with ‘Imagine’.

In July 2012 Maria flew the flag for Ukraine at an international song contest, only this time it was New Wave rather than Eurovision and it was hosted in Jürmala, Latvia.
From 24th-29th July 16 countries battled for victory across the three days. Maria didn’t slay all the competition but she took out enough of those posers to finish 3rd overall with 280 points (only 4 shy of eventual winner Russia).
She may only be 21 but girl has mad skills and if she already took one international singing contest by storm, Copenhagen better batten down the hatches because Hurricane Maria is on the way!

I love how versatile she can be, deliver an emotional ballad with mastery or make you dance with a catchy upbeat song just the same! Best of luck Mariya!
no one expected such emotionally perfomance at New Wave festival. Mariya was like a hurricane. I think, at Eurovision she will be fantastic
Mariya is truly one of the best young ukrainian singers. She deserves to be voice of Ukraine on Eurovision
Im agree that she has mad skills) Her voice is so strong and also flexible simultaneously.
