Patrick: Dilara Kazimova – what a woman! I really like the staging – the coziness and the atmosphere. To be honest – the first part of the background doesn’t suit the song – I mean c’mon towers? Maybe there’s a story behind it but I can’t figure out which. The second part of the background is STUNNING – love it. Her voice is totally touching and really good. The background-singers do a good job – they help Dilara to make some parts magnificent! And a special Thank you to the acrobat who does a reckless but beautiful work!
Bogdan: Dilara is beautiful and very elegant, however she needs to polish her performance. Vocally she is not yet there 100%. The background is amazing, with the church-like windows and then the city landscape, which hails back to the video and will look amazing on TV, especially with the trapezist. Speaking of the latter however, a trapeze artist is a bit distracting and too far removed from the meaningful song. It kind of reeks of gimmick. Have the Azeri run out of ideas? And I usually don’t like literal stagings, but I hope there’ll be fire in there somewhere in the actual show!

Ok. I’ve read enough of azerbaijan bashing and unproven allegations here. I’ve also read enough of unsupported claims about our national instruments in bad English. In the interests of full disclosure, I am Azerbaijani. Guys, whether we like or dislike something, it would serve a good purpose to remember that these are just our subjective opinions. I happen to like the song, although, it’s not silly or pop enough to win. But seriously, don’t take your own views so seriously. It’s just a song contest, not a Glendale diaspora meeting. Peace.
i love this song soooo sooo much good luck Dilara you are very nice <3
Oh I forgot to say, World need this message, thank you so much Azerbaijan for trying to send to us with amazin show
I love this one, the whole thing is well planned and I am sure that this is gonna look beautiful on stage, on screen, bets of luck
AZERBAIJAN #1 <3
good luck DELA we love you very much …………….. AZERBAIJAN
Nice voice, good song, few technical difficulties, some major and minor pitch problems, veryyyyyy unnecessary acrobat, terrible choice of dress/costume. (It’s very pageant-like) could’ve done a better job in the screens and lighting too.
@RyanIreland let’s remember that ESC is not ONLY a Song contest 😉 Everything happened during ESC even corruption ,which was awful ! Her song is great for me .Many people think that too ,so it will be fair if she win.Plus we are talking about 60th ESC .People want it to be HUGE . Sweden will not be able to do it again , Romania’s economy is not great either(If I am wrong than cool 😉 ) , Armenia can do that too cuz we have millioners that will take responsibility + rich diaspora ,but well ESC have not been… Read more »
@ Armenian guy
I love her song, and she’s great but I don’t honestly think she will win, 🙁 which is a pity. I don’t think Europe will get it fully.
@RyanIreland I am agree about Molly xD You can see me commenting here-there-everywhere that Molly must be the winner ..She is my favourite (besides Aram ) 😉 I want to see her rehearsal so badly .I do not know why they take so long : /
@ Armenian guy
I agree with you.
Just can be annoying sometimes, I love our song, I like Aram as well, but sometimes we are criticised for using Irish elements, I suppose there was a time when Irish music etc was cool and hip, in relation to what your saying I didn’t know that in relation to the duduk.
Off topic just watch Molly live on BBC I have to say that it could be the real dark horse and actually win the whole thing 🙂
@Ryanirland I think your country definitely needs to send something that contains Irish sounds and culture.I grow up watching Irish dances ,these cool concerts.I do not understand how can people criticize it… And let me correct you ,I am sure you have seen people fighting about Duduk -Balaban thing , but my friend you can not call it Azeri sound ..It is Armenian duduk sound( Iranians call it Balaban then Azeris started to use it too 😉 ) They can definitely use it no problem ,but it’s annoying when they assure other people that it belongs to them. It would… Read more »
The funny thing is as follows. When Azerbaijan use Azeri elements in their songs they are commended, but when countries like Ireland use Irish elements in their songs we are often criticised, anyone seeing a bit of irony here!!!
We are unlucky we only have one neighbour 🙁
Awesome song and performance. Reminds me Roger Waters “Nobody home” and the tone of Ennio Morricone. Go well together with Azeri national music. Respect Stef ! Background effects and the acrobat movements are a bit lame…Let’s hope for improvements. Thanks Azerbaijan for paying for Swedish or other foreign contributions when unemployment and crisis of any kind suck! This is genuine European integration and appreciation of European art and culture. I don’t think that Azerbaijan is making every efforts to win this year since it is busy with other big international events which will take place in the coming year. Anyway,… Read more »
Well, it seems Azerbaijan has finally settled down and focused on a song staged as opposed to the usual OTT staging that happens to have a song playing. Well done!! I still don’t get the acrobat, be it AZE or whoever, as much as I can’t stand any distracting elements that have nothing to do with the acts (e.g. dancers when they are unnecessary, fireworks just because, etc. I like music at a music festival, you see). The backdrop images of the church-like windows work nicely though, even against the acrobat I must say. The rest is filling. The song… Read more »
Well, Azerbaijan always aims for glory at Eurovision. That dress makes Dilara look like a godess, it fits perfectly with her body and the mood of the song. The background is the only thing that doesn’t convince me too much, but I know they will somehow make it work on camera (c’mon, it’s Azerbaijan we’re talking about). Great job for a great song 😀
IT’S GREAT JOB. WELLDONE
Another professional presentation. I like that the girl up on the rope looks like the mirror image of the singer, as if it is her soul rising in the sky.
After Armenia, Sweden and Russia, this is the 4th certain qualifier in this semi.
@Rashad good information! Good idea.Good for her! There must be many dogs in danger in Azerbaijan ,hope they will get help from Dilara soon 😉

Now about her show- > I think dancer destroyes it .I would like to see only Dilara on stage….Dancer should have danced softer .Her moves are ‘harsh ‘ .Unfortunately many people will find it boring . Hope it will be more interesting during the main show.
Good luck.
@Fatima, actually this statue has been made via 3D technology.
@Erk, the head of PR of the Azerbaijani delegation is Ukrainian. So he was translating for her. And if you noticed in the beginning of the conference she also asked Husniya an apology and said she will speak in Russian in order to let more people understand her.
Such a beautiful woman and such a great song.. But in press conference she spoke Russian not her own language Azerbaijani. Why was she spoke Russian?
One of the best singers this year for sure.
good vocals….average performance on stage.
Aren’t all statues 3D ?
I just finished watching her press conference. She doesn’t stop impressing me. She said she’s going to build an animal shelter in Baku, and she’s selling her signed souvenirs and CDs in order to support the animal shelter. All the money that is made out of the souvenirs will be spent on the shelter. She’s also putting a 3D statue of hers on auction on eBay. She will donate the money to the Danish animal shelter that she visited yesterday.
I’m really proud of her. Keep it up Dilara!
Very good,i like her voice, good luck Azerbaijan
Spot on Ryanireland. Shouldn’t the trapeze girl have been on stage by the end of the song ?
Oh god, boring, pointless background, but it’s Azerbaijan so assured of qualification 🙁 and probably unfairly will end up in top 5 because of the absence of Turkey. But well done to the Swedish team again. 😉
