Patrick: What can I say…they deliver a funny, interesting performance and it’s good that we have Pollapönk: we need some fresh and funny songs after so many depressing ballads. To be honest, I’m not the biggest fan of the song. It’s colourful but it’s still crap. I really like the bright staging and background, because it totally fits their style. Vocally they are okay – not good but not bad. That’s not want you want to hear at Eurovision, where you need to be FAB. But thanks Iceland for an amusing show!
Wiwi: I know this goes against the message of their song “No Prejudice”, but I am totally biased—in the sense that I love this. I know it’s cheesy, and silly, and sounds like it belongs on a 1980s kids TV show. But it makes me smile and that’s worth a lot in a sea of ballads. Take me higher and make me smile, Iceland!

Wonderful goods from you, man. I have understand your stuff previous
to and you’re just ttoo fantastic. I actually like what
you have acquired here, really like what you’re stating and the way in which you say it.
You make it enjoyable and you still take care of to keep it smart.
I can’t wait to read much more from you. This is really
a terrific site.
Fortunately, televoting is done in private and I’d be very surprise if it doesn’t make its way through.
Good – Great stage performance, decent vocals (not the best, but consistent with the studio version), fun song, pretty much everything.
Bad – No one is going to vote for this. Let’s face it, no one wants to be judged for voting for Pollapönk. It’s one we all secretly love but say we hate in order to not be judged.
This song has gone a long way to me, I’ve said it before, I completely hated the song at first, with time it grew on me and now I’m watching these crappy rehearsal videos and even with the low quality, I can say their performance will be lots of fun and now I’m actually rooting for Iceland! 😛 They have sort of a Koza Mostra vibe, maybe for being a group of middle age men singing a fun song? So I hope people will appreciate them so we’ll get to see them in the final, however unlike their greek counterparts… Read more »
I agree with Dar, wouldn’t it be great if in the future an ex-Soviet state would enter a song championing tolerance and diversity. Perhaps we could also get a Russian song telling the world to show some love. Oh hang on …
Well, I luuuve me some Pöllaponk at ESC! The message is simple and direct -crude if you will, though we should not forget it is meant to be UNDERSTOOD. I loved it that they kept the pre-school punk vibe, the children’s (not childish) setting and lighting, and they even added a very simple yet effective L O V E at the end. These four (five, counting the vacking vocalist) have it all forgotten for being who they are. I wish they could make it to the Final, so that a few distorted minds have a chance to get the message… Read more »
My favourite bit of dancing so far
@ vangelis vt – It is the stammering of some words they do on purpose. They’re a punk band for kids AND adults 😉
Love this song to DEATH!
@ dar
I agree 😉
Armenians and Azeris could learn a lot from this song ..
This could easily slip into the final qualifying spot, it’s loud and colourful
What’s that chicken sound they’re making?
