Patrick: Oh my god… This is an unbelievably good performance! We all know that Mariya Yaremchuk is a beautiful woman, but today she looked even more stunning! Crystals made her sparkle like a diamond, and the dark colours gave her real edge. It seems she’s in love with the wind-machine – but that’s not a bad thing. I really love the background and the staging – especially the hamster-wheel. It’s something special. Her voice is great – but she still has to improve those vocals while in motion. All in All – Ukraine was one of the best rehearsals so far. Watch out: Mariya is on the prowl…

Judit: I’m sorry, but I have to say that I’m not impressed at all. Her vocal is weak, and as a woman I really don’t like her dress. The background is beautiful, but the hamster-wheel reminds me Ukraine’s performance in 2009. (I know it wasnt a hamster-wheel exactly, but that was my first thought.) I think Aram have more power alone than Mariya with these stuffs.

Bogdan: To me, it looks impressive (dangerous, too, I can’t help thinking that this “dancer-wheel”  is an accident waiting to happen, but hopefully it won’t be the case) and it kind of reminds me of last year’s Azerbaijan entry with the glass closet. The two don’t touch, but you can definitely sense the chemistry between them. I personally am impressed with Mariya’s vocals as well as her looks, she carries the song quite beautifully. Ukraine won’t win this year (there are better songs in competition) but I wouldn’t be surprised by a top 5 finish.

I really want to know who that man in the hamster wheel is. I liked the perfomance, it wasn’t anything dull and slow.

Now it pains me to say this because I have been a great fan of Ukraine’s entry almost every year since the heady heights of Ruslana….but I think this is rubbish – too naff to be serious and too cheesy to be sexy. I appreciate Eurovision lyrics can be of a questionable standard but this song makes me cringe.

Then again I adored Gaitana in 2012 and she only came 15th so maybe my tastes don’t match up with the wider European scene!

Fatima – how can yo speak about the vocals if it’s just a repetition?? Almost everyone sounded bad! Especially the “winner” from Armenia sounded awful. And last year Denmark also didn’t have super strong voice on rehearsal

Armenian guy – your love for russia is like disgusting. I hope you’re won’t win, to tell the truth he looks scary when he sings and his vocals are bad. Not a winner

I’m impressed. Compared to many of the other rehearsals, this is looking to be one of the most polished.

@Vangelis vt why y’all mention Armenia so much ? It feels like we protested against YOUR government and we wanted to start a war and not you. Come on huh . We once even gave points to Azerbaijan ,which proves that Armenia has not ,so called, “Mother or Father” ( We have brothers tho 😉 ). actually every year we gave you higher points than you to us 😉 Between Europe feels pitty for you .They will vote…(Oops I mean they do not pitty you they will do it to make Russia angry probably ? ; ) ) .I live… Read more »

There won’t be any “sympathy” vote. If anything, Mother Russia will direct all of her satellites not to vote for Ukraine this year (the reverse will be the case for Armenia). That being said, the political situation has nothing to do with judging the song and performance. Ukraine’s entry sounded promising, but this performance doesn’t exactly deliver. She doesn’t sound like the best of singers and she just seems to strut around the wheel in an unsexy dress with nothing much to do. Compare it with the girls from Russia which happen to be better singers and their whole performance… Read more »

As much as I dislike unnecessary props and circus acts, I must say they managed to work it here: the wheel represents clocks well and in a subtler way than it would be having a zillion clocks everywhere; and the backdrop “nestles” the wheel and incorporates it perfectly well as a 3D artifact within a well-crafted landscape. The speeding images towards the second half of the song also give it the impression of passing time, which is very nice. Liked it a lot! As to her singing, I have not heard very poor vocals. Her voice is somewhat “smaller” than… Read more »

To make matters worse, the guy in the hamster wheel turned out to be from the Spetsnaz.

Well, once again she shows she is a great performer. I don’t think this song is a winner, but she’ll do a great job and land in a very good place because the staging is pretty cool and she’s just charming. Love to Ukraine :3

Why ..why …why! Why does Ukraine always have these gimmicks, I just hate them! It really makes the song look cheap when you see some lad running on a hamster wheel, the same with the giant last year …

Ukraine and Moldova need to work on their actual song rather than their gimmickry, these two are the worst offenders!

Supporting Ukraine as a country because of the current political/military situation should have nothing to do with how this year’s entry is judged, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the sympathy vote factor infiltrates into the process. Judging solely on the song, the performance and the devices used to enhance it – I would say this is a display of questionable taste and manipulation.

Did producers make a deal with a playground supply company this year? See saws, hamster wheels, trampolines?!! That being said. Ukraine needs support as a country, hugs to Ukies. Good luck.

From this video, the vocal don’ t sound that good and the whole performance looks listlessand disjointed until the final chorus where it gets better. The dress is also pretty unfortunate…

Oh please. A hamster wheel. All its trying to do is take the viewers intentions away from how poor the vocals and lyrics are. Its an average song. But its ukraine will qualify. As for the winner I dont think so. I dont think the EBU could handle the situation in the Ukraine.
I wish her luck regardless

I think this gonna be a remarkable performance and cheography, the only think I don’t like about this act is the dress.

I wasn’t impressed, the vocal was average and the Milk Tray Man seemed to have to put too much effort to get Mariya off the ground. If it was up to me, this wouldn’t be qualifying.

This is Azerbaijan of last year only now is a hamster wheel instead of a glass cage. But Mariya is no match to that Azeri folk that singed forgot his name.
