The first semi-final of Eurovision 2014 is several days behind us, and boy was it a crazy one. We are all happy for the qualifiers (cheers for San Marino!), but we’re sad for the six acts who have bit the dust.

Did you cry for Mother? Are you ready for Cristina Scarlat to unleash her Wild Soul on those who didn’t vote for her? Did you want Cake to Bake to rise again in the final? Are you still screaming Quero ser tua at Suzy? Has One Night’s Anger become several because Albania won’t sing again on Saturday? Or are you a Tanja fan who is sad she won’t perform more circus tricks on stage? (At least you can watch her covering Britney Spears on our web site).

Of all these acts, who do you think should have qualified the most? You can watch the performances again below. Then vote in our poll. Remember: you can vote for as many countries as you would like, but you can only vote ONE time. Click the box next to each act you want to support before pressing submit.

Semi-final 1 non-qualifier: Albania

Semi-final 1 non-qualifier: Belgium

Semi-final 1 non-qualifier: Estonia

Semi-final 1 non-qualifier: Latvia

Semi-final 1 non-qualifier: Moldova

Semi-finan 1 non-qualifier: Portugal

Wiwibloggs, will you make a poll about which contestant/country made the most idealistic postcard for this year’s contest?

Estonia was my favourite at all this year, it was so bad that they didn’t qualify.

@Just being honest

I don’t think It had anything to do with presence, I think the song was pathetic and sob-ish, also creepy and random at the same time which made those 3 minutes totally IRRELEVANT in my opinion.
If you listened to that song for the first time would you be drawn in and vote for it …… I would NOT.

Portugal and Albania!
I loved both, but if I had to choose only one, I guess it would be Portugal. I adore Hersi’s song, but her performance was less than memorable, Portugal in the other hand is the whole package, fun, upbeat with a very colorful and lively staging.

I feel like Axel was just not a very strong performer with stage presence. That’s why Belgium didn’t qualify. Also, it seems like he focused too much on the emotion of the song rather than connecting with the public. He didn’t at least smile or change expression. Azerbaijan’s Dilara is a good example of how to connect with the public with a dull ballad. She had a strong stage presence despite lacking on diction.

Estonia would have been my original first choice, but she was beat by Portugal on the vocals.
It seemed that Tanja could perform her moves and sing well, but alas she did not when it mattered.

Estonia, obviously, should have qualified. First semi was better than second by far.

I would only replace Azerbaijan with Portugal …… And Semi Final one would have been 100%.
