A lot of Eurovision music makes our readers move. But which song moved them enough to earn the title of favourite dance track of the year?

Over the past seven days our readers have cast a total of 2,796 votes and we now have a clear winner.

Ireland’s Cann-Linn feat. Kasey Smith earned 713 votes, or more than 25% of all those cast. Their song “Heartbeat” takes Celtic tradition, adds a splash of R ‘n B and makes you want to move like the crazy dancers Kasey had on stage. Staging may have let them down this year, but we’re still fans of the song! Congratulations.

The Greeks finished second with 481 votes, or more than 17%. Freaky Fortune feat. Riskykidd will for sure make you stand up on the sofa and shake. “Miracle” is next with 318 votes, or around 11%. It seems that Romania’s Paula Seiling and Ovi will fare even better in the final this time around, as their 2014 entry is way more danceable than the one from 2010. Interestingly, the 5 top positions in our poll are dominated by entries from the second semi-final. Thankfully we’re also running a best ballad poll for the slower, dirge-tastic first semi-final.

I have never even considered Heartbeat as a dance track. I still don’t.
I guess you could even dance to Dancing in the Rain. Shouldn’t that have been nominated too?
Of the real dance tracks, my favs are Greece, FYR Macedonia & Estonia.
