Few things are more embarassing and hurtful than when someone refuses to shake your hand. It’s a lesson that Tinkara Kovacs, Slovenia’s Eurovision 2014 contestant, learned first hand at this year’s contest.
Last Saturday Tinkara made a guest appearance on the TV show “Vid in Pero šov” on Slovenia’s POP TV. She sang a part of her Eurovison song “Round and Round”.
Later, when she was asked about Conchita, Tinkara first responded with silence. She then told the hosts that the Austrian diva had been very unpleasant to her. Tinkara says that she approached Miss Wurst to introduce herself. But rather than responding with a warm hug, Conchita rejected her handshake and said that she didn’t have time for her because she had to pee.
Conchita is a lovely women, so we’re pretty sure she was just having a busy day (and a full bladder). It’s just unfortunate that Tinkara was a victim of the circumstances. Nevertheless, Tinkara said that Eurovision was a wonderful experience and that’s all that counts.
Tinkara also told presenters that her favourite song from this year was Aram Mp3’s and that Basim from Denmark always helped her carry her veil. Beside that, she recounted how Pero (a.k.a. Peter Poles) has earned a lot of love from Europeans who know him as one of the best spokespeople during the voting segment.
The hosts know that Tinkara, a professional flutist, wants to guard her tools. So they gave her a special-made crib and clothes (including blue PJ’s, a silver evening gown and a pink bikini) for her flute. How sweet!

I love Conchita to death, but this was a bit of a dick move.
I remember when I first saw Peter Poles in 2003……he was brilliant and I thought he was HOT! in 2008 & 2009 he was hot too!
His segment in 2009 was a bit dodgy…..probably why he has done it since…..shame

first dowager i didn’t see your apology in the last comment, and i chose not to accept it because your defending a balkan killing criminal, and if you look conceit has a picture with every singer except balkan singers… what a surprise… she needs to have something done about her because she’s getting away with murder!!!
Mikateriyan, I don’t know, why are you surprised? How do you know she didn’t meet Balkan singers do you want photographic evidence? I am also not very pleased that I offered you an apology in a previous post and you chose to ignore it. But whatever i can see the kind of person you are.

I met Conchita at Copenhagen Airport after her victory. She said “I am in a hurry, sorry” and I walked after her in order to get a photo. I begged for a photo in German and she did it. I was very thankful and congratulated her for her great victory. I think if someone is in a hurry you should understand why this person is not always very happy when you approach her for something. Conchita really is a lovely person and you should all appreciate that.

I like conchita, but this was a really shitty thing to do. I know that conchita was really busy during the eurovision week and was one of the most sought after artists this year, but c’mon-do you thing she would say something like this if sanna or ruth lorenzo came up to her?! she probably just didn’t care for little poor slovenian singer, even though slovenia is austria’s neighbouring country.
