A few weeks ago, the grand final happened, viewers and juries voted and the winner was decided. But which grand final performances have inspired the most views on YouTube? Let’s take a look at the numbers.

YouTube view counts for grand final performances

  1. Austria – 8,748,350
  2. Poland – 1,300,593
  3. Sweden – 1,203,398
  4. France – 1,190,181
  5. Spain – 1,161,496
  6. Netherlands – 1,119,419
  7. Armenia – 954,997
  8. Switzerland – 856,010
  9. Germany – 778,662
  10. Russia – 697,472

So, no surprises with Austria at the top – the world can’t get enough of the bearded diva. But what’s most interesting is that while Twin Twin’s performance saw them place last at the grand final, the video is the fourth most popular. Is this curiosity over their deux points? Well, probably not – Twin Twin have had three times as many views as last-place finisher Tooji from 2012 and four times as many views as last-place finisher Ryan Dolan from 2013.

Also proving more popular than their grand final placing are Poland’s Slavic girls, whistling Sebalter from Switzerland, and Elaïza from Germany.

And who’s missing from the top 10? Well, the performance of fifth-place-finisher András Kállay-Saunders. He only ranks 13th in YouTube. And while Ukraine managed sixth place at the final, the “Tick Tock” performance is ranked 12th overall on YouTube. Carl Espen’s “Silent Storm”, which placed at 8, is way down at 20.

If you’re wondering who’s at the bottom, the three lowest view counts belong to Azerbaijan, Montenegro and – sniff – San Marino.

Another interesting thing to consider is which videos have been the most popular in just the last week – removing the initial burst of interest straight after the grand final. The top 10 mostly shows us the same names, but in a different order:

Austria – 470,426
Sweden – 162,065
Armenia – 152,091
Switzerland – 118,172
France – 114,950
Poland – 114,325
Spain – 97,803
Netherlands – 88,775
Ukraine – 87,642
Germany – 79,717

Austria’s still on top, but Armenia and Switzerland are now among the most popular, suggesting Aram MP3 and Sebalter have maintained a strong fanbase.

Poland has dropped a bit – are viewers tiring of all that cream and butter? Also of note – Russia isn’t in the recent top 10 (it’s way down at 20), but Ukraine’s hamster wheel has become more popular in the last week.

Are you surprised by these results? What grand final videos do you still watch?

Its like you read my mind! You appear to understand a lot approximately this, such as
you wrote the guide in it or something. I feel that you simply can do
with some percent to pressure the message house a bit,
however other than that, that is wonderful blog. A fantastic read.
I will definitely be back.

You forgot to count the views from the semifinal performances. Russia & Poland got views because of the hype and high interest in their countries.

Disappointing views for the UK performance (only 500,000 views)

France got a lot of views because it was all over French media that the country came last so those who didn’t watch Eurovision wanted to see their entry (there were a lot who didn’t watch the show in France).

Also i should say that views are much higher compared to last year’s entries!

I would think that most of Aram’s views were by people like me who were trying to understand how it could be regarded as a favourite.

OMG!

Russia performance has 2,277,000 views http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7HKBlAzN5I
Is there a purpose that there is always a “mistake” when it comes to the Russian entry?
