Last year Azerbaijan won the first official edition of Türkvizyon, the pan-Eurasian contestant bringing together Turkic talent. Azerbaijan, Belarus and Ukraine fielded contestants. And so did the Altai Republic, Bashkortostan and Gagauzia.

Azerbaijan is keen to keep a good thing going, and is already on the hunt for this year’s singer. It will choose its entry from the winner of ‘Azerbaycanin sesi’ (the Voice of Azerbaijan)! The live shows start soon and take place every Thursday at 21:30 AZST time (Baku time). Keen to woo viewers, producer Günay Firudinqizi has promised that this won’t merely be a repeat of The Voice of Turkey.

Last year Azerbaijan won the whole thing with Farid Hasanov and the song “Yasa”. Let’s listen to the winning song again, which scored 210 points in the final!

Would you like to see Farid compete in Eurovision next year for Azerbaijan? And who would you like to see represent Azerbaijan in Türkvizyon? Comment below!

To the Former Soviet Republic of the Caucasus slash Middle Eastern region of Azerbaijan (Phew, that was a tongue twister!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Longest and hardest tongue twister ever invented you know.)

We here at Wee wee bloggs (Wiwibloggs even) get that you love Eurovision. But you are going too far with this ‘cheating’ business. It is great that you got booed for a change because you’re normally booing everyone else. (Oh wait no, that was Russia. But anyway.) 😛

Azerbaijan (the dishonest & cheating country) should just withdraw from Eurovision. We Europeans don’t need trash like you, together with Bosnia, Albania, Fake Macedonia. Go away from Europe: Europe for Europeans!

Oh sush! Everyone!

Azerbaijan is Eastern Europe’s Sweden and, like Sweden, must be a cultural melting pot to be that awesome. Just because your country’s shut out from the world doesn’t mean they gotta be cut from Euro.

Well, this show is lame. It’s not gonna last long. No one actually knows about Turkvision in Azerbaijan, the only source that I get infromed about the show from is Wiwibloggs. I like the song Yasa, but I couldn’t find the studio version either. To sum up, the song is about living your life the way you want, as it’s given to you once. Farid is a very talented artist. I would like to see him representing us at Eurovision, but he would be a copy of Eric Saade. BTW, he also did a great job with this song. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dSy9RxiqMJ8… Read more »

Yes, I personally would love to see him or someone similar in Eurovision next year, it is different from what Azerbaijan usually sends to ESC, but I’m liking the change!

Funny how in the postcard they proudly present historical buildings build by Russians, Armenians, Poles, Jews, Germans (church)))
Have you guys heard the song? It is all azeri production.. yes, its a miracle.. wow!
If somecrap like that would enter ESC competition, will it stand a chance to get in the final?
Don’t think so))

I wouldn’t mind if those countries withdrew from Eurovision. Maybe then we can have an honest competition.
