“I like it this big.”

October 3, 2013 is a day that will live in infamy. On that day Cyprus announced that it would withdraw from the 59th edition of Eurovision because of ongoing financial problems. Celebrities reacted, fans reacted, and wiwibloggs reacted. Thankfully officials on the Mediterranean’s third largest island have finally heard the music. Cyprus is returning to Eurovision, y’all!

Critics have argued that RIK, the country’s national broadcaster, should get its house in order and revive the country’s Eurovision participation asap. Well, according to London Greek Radio, the country’s 2015 return is already secured. It also seems that Cyprus has already decided on the selection format!

It will stage a national final that includes preliminary heats. There will also be a Made in Cyprus theme: only Cypriot singers will be allowed to perform. In line with EBU rules, songs must not extend beyond three minutes and they may not be released before the selection process begins. It is expected that RIK will make an official statement in the coming days.

Cyprus last competed in 2013 with Despina Olympiou and her song ‘An Me Thimasi‘. She failed to qualify, finishing in 15th place in the First Semi-Final with 11 points.

I’m glad for Cyprus)) …., wont be for Azerbaijan. That lame Türkvizyon is the right place for them it is even way cheaper.. they don’t have to spend ton$ for swedish songs and entire production- their own, the shitty one works miracles.

I respect Cyprus, Greece, Bosnia, Czechia, Serbia, Portugal, Spain, etc. when they say they may not participate because of financial problems.

How come racist beggar Armenia is always there lol
Isn’t it at expense of US and EU taxpayers money?

Ivi Adamou really sucked big time in 2012, she was out of tune during whole her performance and her song was extremely cheap!!!! But of course everyone here on wiwibloggs likes it, cause they like all cheap dance songs which sounds gay.

Despina’s song last year was AMAZING and so sweet i really don’t get why it failed to qualify!

2012 & 2013 were both brilliant songs. I hope Cyprus brings another to ESC in 2015.

Jon Lilygreen and Ivi Adamou had really catchy songs. Despina’s live performance was not as good as I expected. I’m so glad Cyprus returns! Yay

I love Cyprus in ESC: 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2013 were so good and top 10 / 15 worthy! And I love Ivi! Her song was awesome and she’s nice to look at too. XD

If Ivi Adamou returns to Eurovision in 2015 for Cyprus, I shall be happy. If not, then this is not a big deal for me, I actually never even missed them in 2014, apart from the voting of course as I saw Greece was 12 points down
