The girl of the elements mystified us in Moscow five years ago and placed sixth. But this year, she was snubbed at Eesti Laul when her song Kui tuuled pöörduvad only came fifth. Now, in retaliation, she has released what is possibly the most sleepy song on earth: a duet with Margus Vaher called Aita Mööda Saata Öö.

It is the perfect lullaby: an adrenaline-filled teenage boy who downed five Red Bulls will be knocked out instantly. In addition, Nurmsalu’s pretty soprano is completely mismatched by the bass notes of Vaher. It has a small jazzy feeling, but otherwise is quite drab and is only appropriate when counting sheep, drinking warm milk, and taking a pill hasn’t worked.

“Aita Mööda Saata Öö” Lyrics

Sõlmi juustest lahti pael
Heida põrandale see
Nagu leegi võbin lael
Veel mu kõrval leba sa

Ära proovi leida und
Peagi hommik koitma lööb
Kingi mulle mõni tund
Aita mööda saata öö

Olen halb või olen hea
Kohut mõistma sa ei pea
Võtku homme mind või saatan
Täna sõpra vajan ma

Maha jäänud eilne päev
Homsed kellad veel ei löö
Kurb on siis kui üksi jään
Aita mööda saata öö

Olen halb või olen hea
Kohut mõistma sa ei pea
Võtku homme mind või saatan
Täna sõpra vajan ma

Maha jäänud eilne päev
Homsed kellad veel ei löö
Kurb on siis kui üksi jään
Aita mööda saata öö

Although the “this is what I think and … so should you” vibe is too damn printed in this article, I am not surprised by it. Would it make any difference if I asked for a bit more of respect for the songwriters here like Tha asked? No … what matters is that someone hates the song … and so should we all… its too slow, too sleepy, too everything that does not fit the Eurovision-uptempo-frame of mind of so many hardcore ESC fans. Well, I might kill myself after this, but 10-year-old-peewee-brain Dhani is actually right when he said… Read more »

I take it you’re a homophobe then. But I’m straight guy. It seems I struck a nerve.

But you just proved you cannot have an adult conversation. If you want people to take your comments seriously, don’t be so defensive, and and so rude.

P.S. What’s wrong with homosexuality. I like the UK, we don’t get ignorent people like you.

To all of those complaining about the writing style of articles on here, remember the concept is “Eurovision news…with ATTITUDE” some sass is to be expected and enjoyed with humor.

It is a little too slow indeed, but it doesn’t bores me to death, it rather calms me, there are times when I’m in the mood for music like this, so thanks for sharing Sopon. I still very much prefer this over Calm after the Storm, but guess what? we all have different tastes and we don’t have to agree with each other 😛

Why does every article I read has some aggrivating and bitchy comments from you. Can you please just calm down, and stop making everything said seem like some massive insult to you or whoever they are talking about.
Use some tact, and actually ingage in an adult discussion, not a childish spat. You’re ruining wiwibloggs for trolling the article comments.

I’m sorry, but you don’t need to say that a song “bores you to death” just because is a slow music.
Please respect the singers and composers.
