Omar Naber, Slovenia’s Eurovision 2005 “Stop” singer, is on the move. He competed at this year’s Slovenian pre-selection, EMA with the song “I Won’t Give Up”. And in March he finally released his new album “Na glavo”, which took him four years to record. Earlier this week, he published a new music video for his EMA 2014 entry, with versions in both Slovenian and English.
Here’s the English one.
The song contrasts sharply with his previous single, the touching ballad “Zamet”. The harsher sounds really suit Omar’s vocal range. However, the video is far more interesting. Directed by Urban Bradesko, it features Omar and the girls from his EMA band (Lea Filipovic, Tjaša Resnik, Maja Orešnik and her twin sister Nives, a former Miss Slovenia). It’s an emotional whirlwind, as one moment things are getting hot and steamy, the next everyone’s having a massive argument.
But the most memorable scene comes near the end of the video, when Omar kisses a guy (for the first time in his life), played by Gašper Kemperle. Ooh la la! This has already caused quite a bit of controversy in Slovenia. And you will be able to see Omar’s response in an exclusive wiwibloggs interview, which will be published soon.
What do y’all think? Would you like to see Omar back at Eurovision? And what about that kiss? Let us know below.

@Nitzan, you’ll have to wait for the exclusive interview to see his response, so stay tuned 🙂
He kissed a boy and he liked it?
Well that was… weird. I’m not sure of what the message of the song was with that awkward kiss.
Omar has done nothing more but fuel everybody’s frame of mind by questioning his sexuality … and again sex sells or at least makes people give him a bit of attention. But is that what he needs?
I would love to have him back; he was robbed of a place in the final in ’05. I’ve heard, however, that Slovenia may be withdrawing 🙁
