Having recently been rescued at sea, which strangely coincided with the release of their new single “Free Spirit”, it seems that Jedward have their sights on a possible third participation at next year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Austria.

However, they won’t sing for their native Ireland, the country they represented in 2011 and 2012. It has been revealed that Jedward have been approached by several other countries to become their representative. Edward had this to say:

“We had every single country coming up to us going, ‘Can you please write a song for our country? Can you please represent our country?”

“So who knows? There’s a lot of demand for Jedward. There’s a lot of Jedward love all over the world.”

During this year’s contest in Copenhagen, the duo told wiwibloggs that they would participate again with a self-written song.

Jedward finished 8th in Düsseldorf in 2011 with “Lipstick”, and 19th in Baku a year later with “Waterline”. They also made a brief appearance during the first semi-final this year.

Every single country wants Jedward to represent them? I can’t believe that. They have tried twice & didn’t win.
Lipstick made a big impression. It was a great song & the staging was excellent. But we have seen Jedward now & 2012 contained no surprises. They would need a killer song & some serious Wow factor.

I like them! They’re genuine, fun, and love everyone. I’m not the biggest fan of their music, but they have a lot of personality and bring something special to Eurovision. I’d be interested to see what they might offer in a third attempt.

I can’t stand them. Lipstick was fun in 2011, granted, but Waterline was just dull. Free Spirit shows a development in their music and they sound a lot more mature now, but I don’t think is enough for me to start liking them.

No, just no… I mean I like their 2011 song and performance, but only because great backdrop, costumes, music and backings helped them look impressive… Both of them as they are would look incredibly stupid if they would try to sing without any of help, just to sing serious song like Conchita, Common Linnets, Sanna, Aram etc… I love fun and cheerful entries, but not if they are sung by talentless brats like they are… They are cute, and that’s it… They can score with teenagers, but really they do not have quality at all…

Actually think RTÉ need to give them more freedom to be Jedward, that’s what went so wrong in 2012.

Personally, I think that, with the right song (something as mellow as what tyDi produced), Audrey could finish in the top 10.

D: I’m afraid I must agree. They finished 8th in 2011 and 19th in 2012. It seems that the only way for them is down, because they are well known within ESC circles, and a 2-year layoff is probably not long enough for them to wipe the slate clean.

Ireland should go with Audrey Gallagher.

That voice of hers should at least get them back in the top 15.

Yes please, I’d. Love them back in any capacity! They bring the excitement that’s been lacking the last couple of years without them.

Yes please!!!
But only if you were representing Ireland. I would actually be sickened and devastated if they represented another country and actually won the damn thing, after two attempts representing us.
Plus Ireland needs to send a respected act to Eurovision anyways in order to get a good result and at the minute only Jedward are our options.
