PewDiePie, the Swedish video game commentator, is one of the most popular people on the planet. He has more than 28 million subscribers on YouTube, and adds more than 30,000 subscribers daily. In his video commentaries, he plays various video games — from horror games like Amnesia, Corpse Party and Slender Man to more comedic ones like Goat Simulator, Happy Wheels and Octodad.

I’ve had a scroll through some of the 24-year-old’s videos and found that in sections of certain videos, he samples and sings some of Eurovision’s greatest hits.

PewDiePie has used at least two songs in his videos, though there are probably more. The two songs are Fly On The Wings Of Love, which won Denmark the contest in 2000, and Run Away, the song from Moldova in 2010, which featured Epic Sax Guy.

“Goat Simulator” – Run Away

“Happy Wheels”, “OctoDad” and “Journey” – PewDiePie sings Fly On The Wings Of Love

I would probably say that he MIGHT be a ESC fan. Denmark 2000 was actually a hit, so he might just have heard it and liked it. Moldova 2010 is all over the internet as a meme, so that answers that.

Eitherways, i’d be happy if he was a ESC fan 😀

I never liked PewDiePie so much. But I find his Just Dance videos a bit hilarious.

With the recent Minecraft incarnation of Conchita, the gaming world is certainly ripe for an ESC annexation. So maybe watch out for a replacement for Happy Wheels by the Israel-2000-inspired ‘Be Happy Wheels’?
