It’s been a little over two months since Eurovision came to an end with Conchita Wurst telling us we’re unstoppable—and we’re still emotional wrecks. As you cope with your Post Eurovision Depression, we thought we’d present 14 more signs you’re a Eurovision fanatic (in case you missed the first 20 signs, the next 20 signs, those 20 signs from national selection season, or those 16 other ones). Please binge-enjoy this GIF list to compensate for the lack of wind machines and unnecessary key changes between now and the national selection shows.
Eurovision GIFs: Behold the horrors of fandom
1. You still rant about how certain acts did not do well enough/did too well, so much so that people literally do this to you:
2. You turn to watching top 37 videos and when you disagree you pull a Suzy:
3. You’ve tried to make your friends and family enjoy certain songs, and that attempt ends up like this:
4. Well, okay, maybe you converted ONE person.
5. When you hear a Eurovision song in a random place you can hardly believe your ears and pinch yourself to make sure that you are not dreaming
6. Hearing rumors about countries not participating makes you very nervous and very afraid…
7. You wait for new songs to come out from your new favorite artists so that you can dance the night away:
8. You eventually realize that Eurovision is over six months away and you borderline cry…
9. You hear SPECTACULAR news about your favorite artist/country’s participation and you fangirl x infinity:
10. You hear your favorite Eurovision song and the inner performer is released:
11. You stalk (or not, depends on your definition) your favorite Eurovision eye candy, and when you see that they have uploaded new pictures you check them out in a very non-subtle way:
12. You now (pretty much out of necessity) love a song that you used to hate and when people continue to hate it you go all:
13. People casually ask you if you’re a Eurovision fan and you reply by saying you’re…
14. When you hear of the first national selections, you start:

I meant Festivali i Këngës 2013
When I went on holiday back to Albania this year I heard “Suus” at the duty free at Tirana airport. Then at a supermarket in Tirana I heard “Ne Ty” (Festivali i Këngës 2014.) Back in Ireland I heard “What’s another year” in Tesco. On a tv show last week I heard “Calm After the Storm” and in a pub in Dublin I heard “Glorious”
I once heard “Butterflies” on my friend’s BlackBerry, and I determined to download it since 3 years ago. I also heard “Et s’il fallait le faire” and “Satellite” on my favorite TV show, On The Spot.
Heard “Rise like a Phoenix” in my local Chinese “Hot Dollar – everything for $2” store last week … not making it up, still feeling quietly discombobulated. This is in AUSTRALIA, folks!!!
The unexpected hearing thing happened to me last night, at a local clothing store, they were playing Pollaponk’s song! Btw, I’m from México, so imagine my surprise to hear that specific song!
I heard the Polish entry in 2009 blaring from someone’s house in my estate. I saw ”Ooh Aah, Just a little bit” and ”Waterloo” (just before Eurovision) on a music station in my house. I thought I heard ”Efter Solsken” by Panetoz in Spain this year. It wasn’t unfortunately. 🙁 I heard ”Rock ‘N’ Roll kids” in my Dad’s car in October 2013. My nan was watching a celtic music fest and Eimear Quinn sang ”The Voice” . My nan had a singing donkey (It was fake. It kept hip thrusting as well.) and it sang ”All kinds of Everything”… Read more »
A couple of days ago, we heard Inga & Anush’s “Jan Jan” blaring out of a backstreet sex shop in Lisbon. Took us a bit by surprise.
I heard ‘Allez Allez Ole’ when I walked on the street of Palembang, Indonesia..before that I felt so crazy when Runaway (Moldova 2010) is played at Departement Store in Jogja, Indonesia
Is the guy in GIF no.11 Tooji?
Glorious, L’Essenziale,Euphoria, Alcohol is Free and You are used a lot in Dutch shows. I heard Love Will Shine A Light (or however it’s called) a few days ago somewhere. Also, Out On My Own is a typical supermarket song.
I heard “La la love” in a H&M Store in Montpellier (France), “Euphoria” in a bar and “Allez ola olé” in a home stuff store in the French countryside…
I heard “La la Love” twice in a supermarket in Colombia and I was OMG, I know that song! haha
I’ve heard Eurovision songs in random places, like Euphoria in some gay clubs in São Paulo, or in a clothing store at the mall in my city; I’ve heard also Only Teardrops on the radio and sung Satellite, Fairytale and Touch My Fire (UK 05) in a karaoke bar… in Brazil. LOL
I heard ‘Busy Doin’ Nothin” in a market shop in Magaluf in June. I was in my element!
I soooooo do a Suzy when watching other people’s tops :P.
Numbers 3 and 4 are very true in my family (poor Waylon though XD).
Two weeks ago I heard Aram MP3’s ‘Not Alone’ play in a store in London. I was on my way leaving but hung around until the song ended I couldn’t help myself XD.
I heard in two weeks two different American Top 40 flashbacks from the 1970’s…”Save Your Kisses For Me” the first week and “Waterloo” the second week! I can’t wait until the American Top 40 Year End flashback for 1974, where “Eres Tu’ and “Waterloo” are played back to back!
*Fangirl moment*
One time i heard “Euphoria” in a Mall in Caracas – Venezuela and my face was like O_________O but very very happy!
I once let my dad listen to Spain’s 2012 entry…
Since we’re talking about unexpected places to hear Eurovision songs, I’ll add my own :D.
1) the gay bar Union in Columbus Ohio USA used to play the EUPHORIA performance from Baku nonstop.
2) A friend and I were walking through Disneyland and we heard Satellite and of course, had to stop, and start dancing around. If they hadn’t known we were homos before, they did then! 😀
Heard Sebastian Tellier – Divine (France 2008) in a Bearshka store in Barcelona and was like WTF!?!
Here in Greece, I have heard ”DJ, take me away” by Deep Zone and Balthazar (Bulgaria 2008) 2 or 3 times when I have gone to play bowling
I heard “Zaleilah”and “Quedate conmigo” in a restaurant in Tenerife. I visited Baku in February 2012 and I heard “Running scared” so many times. In a lidl I heard “Missä miehet ratsastaa” (Finland 2008). I was so shocked as the song wasn’t even played in 2008.
Hahaha I heard “Believe in Me” in Morrisons xD And I heard a remixed version of “Rainmaker” at my city’s carnival 🙂
i heard the Moldovan 2010 entry in the mall yesterday! so random!
Oh god I heard hello goodbye from the melodifestivalen 2013 in a greek shopping mall and I was like: oh my god is it a prank or something????
I couldn’t believe the Italian restaurant here In Germany played the English Jazz Version of “Suus” o:! It was like omg my favourite song! *o* Here in Germany?!
I am all of them.
I also heard “Miss kiss kiss bang” (Germany 2009), “Guildo hat euch lieb” (Germany 1998) and “Ein Bißchen frieden” (Germany’s first ever win in 1983) all in one day in a department store in Hanover.
When I went to UK I heard glorious by cascada in a pub (it Was Overplayed in Germany.) Satellite was also extremely overplayed in Germany when she won. I tried to make my family like Slovenia. I used to hate Belarus and Iceland but I love them now.
Unexpected listens are the best! I’ve had Lena happen to me twice, once with an album single in an Old Navy in Kansas City in 2011 (one day before my first Eurovision final!) and “Satellite” at a little store in the mall where I live in Texas. I think I partially died on the inside.
Also, the Suzy gif is perfection.
I heard Bonnie Tyler’s “Believe In Me” played in Morrisons in Loughborough. I couldn’t believe in it!!
LA Fitness gyms play Glorious from Cascada all the time !
I even thought that I heard the song YOU (Sweden 2013) on the taxi radio in The Philippines and I get all jumpy and stuff but then I realized that it’s just my tablet playing without me noticing it, and I was bummed.
Only teardrops is on ikea playlist in all stores .. So is Tone Damil butterflies which came second to rybak in melodi gran prix in Norway 2009 ..
I have heard ”Euphoria” in hundreds of different places. In the supermarket, at an ice cream stall in Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, even in someone’s car when I was in Benalmadena in 2012. 😛
I also hear ”Lipstick” by JEDWARD (Oh God!) quite a bit as well.
I think I heard ”Feeling the you” by Sonny (Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2014) in a cake shop one time.
I once heard We got the Power remix by Loreen at H&M, here in NYC
