There are certain stars that keep the Eurovision fire burning long after their participation. Tim Schou is one of them. He participated at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011. Since then he’s made a splash in the pool, and is currently playing Flounder in The Little Mermaid on stage at the Royal Danish Opera house. As his birthday week draws to a close, it’s time to review his latest video release “Supernova”.
Back in May, Tim released the single to positive critical reception. Fast foward to July. Schou takes a trip to Landau in in the south of Germany to shoot the video as the track gains momentum in Scandinavia. Directed by Cedric J Jack, the video explores the theme of dreams.

Schou has always been fascinated with dreams and signs. “I enjoy stuff that seems to make no sense but if you look close, some things might make more sense than you thought it did,” he says. “Or maybe you make it make sense, because you want it to. That’s what this video is.”
In some scenes, Schou seems to be running away from something. Or could it be that he’s running towards someone? Some shots show him trapped in a cage. Or is that a metaphor for something else, like his imminent freedom?
It isn’t easy unraveling a creative mind, and the same holds for this video. What we have here is raw, organic and thought-provoking. For an artist, surely that counts as a dream in itself.
