One travels to Mykonos for many reasons. Beautiful architecture and beaches, clubs and bars, extraordinary cuisine, and tolerance towards LGBT communitites. But on Saturday night there was one more reason to take the ferry to the Island of Winds. Greek Eurovision legend Anna Vissi staged a concert celebrating 40 years in the business—and Conchita Wurst and several other Eurostars joined her on the stage!
On Saturday, the 2006 Greek and 1982 Cypriot representative gave a spectacular live show at Jackie O’ beach. Conchita Wurst (Austria 2014), Freaky Fortune and Riskykidd (Greece 2014) and Kalomira (Greece 2008) also sang. Here you can enjoy the Anna-Conchita duo performing the Greek entry for 2006, “Everything”!
You may remember that Conchita covered the song back in 2006, during the finals of Austria’s Starmania. She was Tom Neuwirth back in those days.
Anna Vissi also tried to teach Conchita Greek, but Miss Wurst couldn’t manage to say “S’ agapo” which means “I love you”. She also apologized for the huge delay, but the Greeks don’t mind: they stay out late.
Conchita also performed her winning song, “Rise Like A Phoenix”. Tickets cost 100 to 450 euros per person, while Fannatics (Anna Vissi’s fan club) had the chance to attend the event for just 35 euros. At the end of the concert fireworks went off with a bang. Super!
